Alpha Phi Alpha at the U. of Southern Miss. has a house.
AKA lives in the panhellenic with the other eight NPC chapters. There are no sorority houses at Southern Miss, they live in one dorm and each chapter has two floors.

As a matter of fact...
NPHC organizations do have houses. Comparatively, not as many as our fellow WGLOs. But we do have houses. By and large, our organizations have foundations or centers that house the business offices of Regions, states or specific chapters. And quite naturally, all of the NPHC have headquarters that many of refer to as our home. I have been fortunate enough to visit lovely Zeta houses/centers in Lousiana, Florida and Arizona. I am looking forward to visiting the Zeta-Sigma center in Atlanta. I hear it is quite nice.

lol.. no..
the building is split in half with a stairway and elevators in the middle that take you to each chapter room floor and that chapters additional floor, except AKA has one floor and the first floor holds Panhellenic's front desk and a waiting room. I think in total there are nine floors, but it has been many years since I have lived there or in the South for that matter. Panhellenic has had many votes over the years to build houses, each time it is voted to stay in Panhellenic. When I was a Pi Phi active, everyone had friends in each chapter. People felt that building and moving into houses would break-up the Panhellenic unity.

Nine floors is still big for a dorm. Nine floors a girls? I couldn't imagine that.

There is approximately 400 girls that live in Wilbur Hall, better known as Panhellenic. Each split floor holds 10-15 rooms that fit 2 girls each. There are a total of 9 floors (split), the first floor holds the waiting area on one side and Phi Mu Sophmores and some pledges (not freshman) on the other side and AKA has one floor on the top south side. Only actives, officers first, then seniors down can live on chapter room floors (which also have kitchens). I never really thought of it as that big of a dorm. They have several dorms at USM that are bigger. There are several dorms that probably hold about 500 students, with a cafeteria and swimming pool. The majority of dorms hold about 200 students.

Iota Phi Theta-Nu Chapter has a house at the University of Maryland, College Park. Other chapters have houses too, but I am not sure of all of the locations at this time.

Here at Duke, no GLO has a "house", but fraternities have dorm sections which basically function as their houses, just in the middle of campus...(sororities are non-residential - started out b/c of some outdated law about more than 10 women in a house = brothel, but now it's completely voluntary...the sororities here have voted to stay non-residential...sometimes especially close sisters will block together in dorms, but that's as close as it comes...anyway, I digress)...but yeah, the NPHC fraternities also have their own dorm sections.
