Smile FU Junior transfer rushing?

Hey everyone!

I am looking into Florida University...unfortunately as a junior transfer! I have been interested in rushing for the longest time - all of my friends are currently in sororities at the school I am at now, and I absolutely love everything about it... From what I've read, FU recruitment is really competitive, especially in my case. I'm at an extremely small liberal arts school right now and joining a sorority here seems kind of silly, but is definitely something I'd consider doing at FU since it's so big! However, after going through so many forums I'm a little nervous that I won't get in anywhere..

Florida University = University of Florida?

And why are the sororities at your current school "silly?"

Hahaha wow go me I feel like a dumbass. Anyway, yes, UF...I'm surprised more of you didn't tear me up about that lol. Anyway, I keep getting signed out of this forum so this is literally my THIRD time typing this. ugh. Anyway, I did not mean in any way that sororities here are "silly"... I should have phrased that differently since most of all of my best friends are in one and I honestly love all of the girls/guys who are affiliated at my school. It is difficult to explain but I'll try my best... Greek life is watched like a hawk on my campus... and for the only 3 sororities that are left, there are only 2 that many consider even joining. For this, I feel as though the school (and its size) has really taken away from many of the awesome, life changing experiences that define greek life. Earlier this year a sorority got kicked off...a group of such awesome girls who really did deserve a second chance. And just last week actually, two of my best friends were kicked out of their sorority for the most ridiculous reason - one which was so upsetting that merely 20 girls dropped out on the spot (a significant number when considering the size of my school). These girls truly deserve so much better than this and it has been so frustrating to watch them and my other friends who were once their sisters, go through this. For this, I feel as though greek life has deteriorated and I as mostly all fraternities and sororities feel as though they are not treated fairly here... nor have they been given the credit which I as many others feel they deserve. I do have other friends in sororities who go to other schools and their greek system is completely different from here. It's truly a sad thing... but maybe I am wrong?

What school is this? There are many national sorority and fraternity volunteers on this site, and if we could inform our headquarters that Greek organizations are receiving such shoddy treatment, things might change.

So obvious with the FU. NO ONE that is thinking of transferring to a school would screw up the name like that.
