It's all about prioritizing.

When I pledged, I was in school FT and worked PT. As an active, I was in school FT and worked FT. It can be done, but you need to know how to manage your time.

There were plenty of women in my collegiate chapter who worked.

The key to this is to know how to manage your time.

Also, there are events in sorority life that will be considered required. If you have known about an event far enough in advance, "I have to work" may not be an acceptable excuse.

Assuming that you are asking about NPC sororities:

Are you enrolled in a four-year college or university? If not, by and large, you are not eligible for membership in my fraternity. Membership is restricted to "college women".

I won't speak to the non-collegiate, service, or NPHC sororities. I'm sticking to my lane.
