The Kappa Alpha chapter at Georgetown (KY) College has been suspended while the school and the fraternity’s national office investigate allegations that fraternity members made racial slurs against a minority student at the college. In an e-mail to staff & students the college’s president stated that, “racially insensitive symbols and hateful graffiti have appeared recently in some places on campus, and hostile remarks were made in a classroom.” The ultimate fate of the chapter will be determined pending the outcome of investigations.
Georgetown College is a small school with close ties to the Baptist denomination located near Lexington, KY
