ITT we chit chat about/post great songs that are just too short
Have you ever been listening to one of your favorite songs and you said to yourself --"ya know, this song would be so awesome if it was at least 3 minutes longer".
I have a few, but these are the first two that come to mind.

I know songs weren't as long in the 60s, but light my fire was really long. That was by far one of the best songs ever.

I love Gloria.
I would be happy if I hearn an extended version of Rhythm Is Gonna Get You. An instrumental break to allow for dancing or something.
/loving music from Cubans

One minute and forty seconds:

I'd also say anything by Roy Orbison except that every song he sings is the perfect length; he tells the story, and it's executed flawlessly. His voice is what I imagine silk would sound like if it had a voice.

Kings of Leon - Genius
- King of the Rodeo
- Molly's Chambers
Dave Matthews Band
the DMB song is like a 45 second intro on Before These Crowded Streets
the KOL songs are a lot like Ramones songs, in that part of the reason they rock is due to brevity and energy. but when i'm banging my head i need more. more. more.

R.E.M. covering "Galveston" and "Wichita Lineman". I need them to put out both as full length records.

If I hear "Galveston", I will cry. Hurricane Ike took our beach house there a couple of years ago.

I used to always think that Lisa Loeb's "Stay" was way too short. Whenever she'd sing the line "...or keep me 'cause you know you're just so scared to lose," I'd always get so depressed because I knew the song was nearing its end.

Song 2 by Blur is one of my favorites, but it's no where near long enough.

I agree w/ Song 2
One of mine: Mariah Carey - Fly Away. When this CD first came out, I loved the way her voice sounded in this song. The song is a little over 3 minutes, but seems much shorter.
I just noticed, though, that the "full" version (that was recorded but not included on her Honey CD) is available.
ETA:
Just thought of another one: Jill Scott - Crown Royal

I love Triumph and this song is actually a normal length for most songs, but I love this song so much, that 2 more minutes would have been perfect.

As far as Blur goes, I'd rather hear a few more minutes of "To The End." "Song 2" is plenty long enough for me.
