My Happily Ever After
So as my title suggests I have finally found my home! Being a junior at a very competitive school, I was worried that my recruitment story would have a very unhappy ending. I thought I would share my story so other girls who were in my same situation would give it a try!
You can tell by my name that I attend FSU =] We now have sixteen different chapters and I will replace their names with Disney movies just because Im slightly obsessed.

Ill go ahead and just talk about the first day. Three of my good friends, all sophomores, were rushing with me. We all arrived to the first day of rush, nervous but super excited! We were all split up and met out rho gams. Mine was perfect and I could tell she was going to really be able to help me throughout the week. After a kick off celebration everyone went to get ready for the round one day one. We would be seeing 5 houses tonight and 11 tomorrow.
1. The first house was PETER PAN. This house was one I was very interested in. Their house is beautiful and the largest on campus. I thought I knew what I was in for but as soon as they opened the door, everything I knew disappeared. The girl who rushed me seemed just as nervous as I was which calmed me down a lot. She was very surprised that I was a junior but told me their house for sure takes juniors. The conversation was a little awkward but I felt that I could still fit in well there and it was probably just my first house jitters that got in the way.
2. The second house was UP. This house has a reputation for being the nice girls and I have a lot of friends there. I talked to 4 girls while at the house and each one was very different. I enjoyed getting to see lots of diversity in the house but I didnt like that I only got to talk to the girls for about 2/3 minutes each. I liked the house but I wasnt sure if it was for me.
3. House 3 I will call THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG. It was the newest house on campus and was only participating in the first round of recruitment since they would hold their own rush after formal recruitment. I was very interested in this house since I knew they would be looking for all ages and girls with strong leadership skills. I liked their video but after leaving this round I decided that I wanted to stay in formal recruitment and pursue this if I didnt receive a bid.
4. The next house, POCAHANTAS, was the biggest surprise of the night. I knew their reputation and figured that I would not like them at all. As soon as I walked in I felt like I belonged there. The girl who rushed me was super friendly and talked about their sisterhood and had a really good conversation with me. The president came over and talked to me as well and everything flowed super well. I did not want to leave this house.
5. The final house of the night, Wall E, is another house where I had a lot of friends. Ive always been a little intimidated by the girls in this house though and figured I wouldnt like it. Its considered a top house and everyone there is so beautiful. This was another surprise. I felt so welcome and the girl who rushed me also rushed as a junior so we talked about that. We had so much in common and she put me right up front to watch the video. I was the last one to leave the house because we just kept talking.
So after the first night I was certain I was meant to be somewhere and was so excited that my opinions were changed so I could go in with an open mind!!!!
