question about rushers
Hey everyone, I have a few questions about rushers. I was wondering... Can the rushers be any age, from sophomores to seniors, or is it only upperclassmen?
Do only the girls with leadership positions in their chapter become rushers or is it open to every member?
Does every sorority member of that chapter participate in rush? Maybe not all as rushers, but in the ceremonies and skits?

Everyone is required to participate.

Every member has a "job", whether it's interacting with the PNMs, leading songs, participating in skits, pouring drinks, etc.
If there a specific reason you are asking this question?

when you meet the girl, more than likely she will tell you her name, her hometown, her major and her year. also know that to my knowledge and at least in my sorority, no ones vote holds more weight than another-even the seniors or the officers counts just the same as the lowly sophomore rushing on the sorority side for the first time.

In order to ensure that the PNMs aren't overwhelmed and the actives stay as fresh as possible, larger houses will often break up into rotations- group A rushes for party 1, then goes to pass food/drinks, prep in the kitchen, organize paperwork/recs/whatever, fill in some other task, or just hang out to take a breather while group B rushes for party 2, group C for party 3, and so on. It can happen any number of ways- but is common even in smaller houses (my campus averaged 30 actives). Just assume that you will meet a cross-section of women in all of the parties you go to, and they will do their best to make you comfortable, get to know you, and let you get to know them.
