Senior Portraits
I have been looking around for a photographer to take my senior portraits, and I've found quite a few I am interested in. What is the average cost of senior portraits, though? The session fee and the actual package one would order? Please let me know what you think. Thank you.

Since people don't use phonebooks anymore, you can try Googling "photographer" and "my town". Or ask other people in your class who they are using.
(hoping that I haven't fed a troll, if so... )

It depends on where you get them done. They will probably be more expensive if you go to someone in Jackson or Meridian. It will also depend on how many photos, poses, outfits etc. you would like. It would be best to just call the photographer you are interested in and find out.

Oh come on, you guys.
I bet that some brand-spanking-new GCer is going to come to April's aid quite quickly in this very thread, and even provide a link!!
And yeah, I still use a phonebook. I sure as hell am not going to turn on my computer just to look up a phone number. That's ridiculous.

You know she's literally going to include "my town" in the search criteria
Don't schools tell you where to get your senior portraits done? Mine did.

Believe me, that crossed my mind.
My school told us where to go, but some schools let the students choose. Although, I'm not sure how coming to an anonymous message board is going to help that much.

This is all new to me. We always had a photographer come to the school.
But what do I know -- I turn my computer off too.

I also shut down my computer. I know that I don't have to, it's just a break from hibernation.
I use phonebooks if I don't have a computer or Blackberry handy, which happens. My parents only use phonebooks.

Our class pictures were all the school photographer, but 'everyone' went and got senior pictures done and passed them out/signed them etc. All you do is go to a local photographer in town, usually they have a display at the mall with family/senior/wedding pictures.
Also I think that means you're old

Senior pics are the norm here. You usually did like 4 outfits and a variety of backgrounds/poses. When you went to get your pics taken, you made sure to get a headshot because that would be your yearbook photo. You also made sure you got plenty of wallets because those were signed and passed out to your friends. Must be a midwestern thing.

Yep exactly! Often one would be a sports one if you were an athlete and I had my dog at the time in one too. Standing in water is popular right now but I didn't feel like standing in a pond...

The popular thing when I was in school was the "outdoors on a swing" pic.
