There's a program called "BearShare" that I have found useful.
If you're into IRC, you can get lists from these bots that people have operating. Basically, you request a specific song, the bots notify you if they have the song, then you go and download it directly from the bot that has it. It is kind of complicated, but it is harder to track than, say, Napster, where there is a communal login.
I hope that made sense.

Audiogalaxy.com is pretty good. It only takes a few minutes to download, it's notlike napster where u get the songs right away but once you request them and they are on your song list, audio galaxy will download them for you regardless so the next time u check you list it;s already on there. I like ti alot less work
Hope that helps

Morpheous is really good too. It's file listings are very large. The best I've seen since Napster. I've never had trouble finding a song on there.

Does anyone here still use gnutella? I used to use the limewire version of it but I think gnutella as a whole has gone downhill lately. Now I use audio galaxy.

If you're used to using Morpheus, try Kazaa...it's EXACTLY the same program (you can't run both at the same time) but i've found kazaa is easier to log onto...i mean, you'll be able to access all the files that are shared through Morpheus too...

Do a search on GNUTELLA. It's open source file-sharing software. You can download WIN and MAC versions from several sites.

Use the Search, play nice, and don't make me come in there.

SPYWARE.
Use morpheus instead - for the very reasons you gave! It's the same program, minus the IP and email logging. Which are both BAD.

I have to say definitely Audiogalaxy. Pretty easy to use and it will pick up the leftover pieces of songs later if you get kicked off before they finish.
Some songs might be blocked because of copyright rules but it's still really easy to find them. search for the CD title or just the song's name or artist's name alone. I can always find everything I want that way.
