Hazing in the Workplace

I'm curious to know if anyone has experienced hazing in the workplace. No, you won't get paddled, or be forced to drink yourself to death. But what about being the butt of a joke or prank, being given meaningless tasks to do, etc. all because you're a newbie? How have you established yourself so that the hazing stops?

Hazing exists everywhere. It doesn't matter whether it's called "office politics," "parenting," "networking," or "getting in good with your professors."

In all major avenues of life we are either coerced, forced, or somehow pressured into doing things or acknowledging power differentials that are not officially required or necessary to get some desired outcome.

i know. i'd hope that most people would realize that sooner or later, especially if they're in the workforce.
