Is USF a "competitive" school?

Hello! I am planning on going through informal Spring recruitment at my school, University of South Florida, even though I do have a few negative hits against me (repeat rusher, graduating in 2011, etc.). But, I have been told that this might be nearly impossible to pull off if my school is competitive as far as greek life is concerned.

Has anyone heard if USF is super competitive? I only have a few friends that are in fraternities or sororities here, so I don't really know. I still want to give informal a try even if it is, but I was just curious!

You're going to be a second semester junior- that makes for a tough rush ANYWHERE. You also don't have many friends in houses, which is usually the main way upperclassman are helped in getting bids.

Take the time to do a search, there are USF threads here somewhere..

You've also already gotten a lot of questions answered in your other thread:

Ditto to what kddani said...informal is more difficult in my opinion because there are very few spots to fill and because during formal recruitment there was a separate quota for jrs and srs..therefore, the sororities aren't required to take jrs or srs if they dont want to. There is also the chance that not all the chapters do informal because they may already still be at total from formal in September.

even though Spring recruitment is competitive im not gonna lie .... however show up to the events and info nights and hope for the best. If a chapter likes you enough they will put your age behind them..... ,y advice would be to add the informal recruitment groups and send messages to the recruitment counselors and see if there are anyways to get involved before thier recruitment events to show your dedicated!!

Im a spring baby so it is possible for the record!
