West coast... where are you?
Maybe it's just me, but I've been noticing that there aren't a whole lot of GCer's on here from the west coast. Why is that, and if I'm wrong.. where are you???
I'm feeling very alone in my little corner of the US...

The midwest is the place to be!
We got what you need and then some.
-Cheese, got it
-Brats, got those too
-Milk, o you know it
-Beer, Wisconsin, the home of Miller, 'nuff said!
-Wheat, umm yea, we got some of that too.
-Chicken, everywhere
-Cows, I permanently see black and white cow spots
-narrow stretchs of land, you should probably fly over the m.w.
-barns, too many
-famers, same as farms
-Amish, everywhere you look
-McDonalds, booya there are more of those than ppl in some towns!
-iced tea, O YEA BABY
And there is so much more...but..you have to experience it for yourself

D - i know exactly how you feel - I'm from Chicago and the midwest is seriously the place to be
Now that I'm in iowa for school, we have so much farmland, corn, wheat, farmers, chickens, and amish that i might go crazy!
I am leaving to go home to chicago in like 30 minutes.. ohh i can't wait for 220 miles of farmland with an occasional cow or barn to keep things interesting

It is all about the west coast!!
I'm in sunny San Diego, and I would never go anywhere else. I could not stand being land locked by other states. I NEED the ocean. Living on the west coast makes life more fun. California has everything that every other state has, and more.

Greetings from LALA land! I live a few blocks away from the Pacific Ocean and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Having travelled cross-country several times, I can honestly say that all of America is very beautiful. But I'm sure you all will excuse me for being partial to my beloved west.

Finally, someone from my neck of the woods... My home is Olympia (yes.. it IS the state capitol.. NOT Seattle) but I go to school in the vast wheatfields of Pullman, in eastern WA! It's like having the whole US topography in one state! We've got it all, in a way no one else does!

I know what that's like; we don't have wheatfields (per se), but we mountains, farmland and desert all in one province. Yes we have desert areas in Canada . And I am not trying to use symbolism here by saying our artic tundra is a vast desert land - no we have virtual, hot as hell desert in South Eastern BC. It's called Osooyos, and can get up to 50 degrees celcius!!! in the summer.

THE BEST IS THE WEST!
Hello from Los Angeles!!! Have lived 90% of my life in the West and would have it no other way! Love everything about it, right down to the fact that it is in the high 80s in MID OCTOBER! And that we have surf, ski, --any climate you could want, within driving distance--and that we are traditionally a very liberal and accepting culture.
California and the West is the best!!!

TEXAS IS THE BEST!!!!
we have coast line (southeast-padre island), mountains (west), forrest area (east) and a great climate and the people are sooooo friendly.
I LOVE Austin-beautiful, sunny/warm weather 90% of the year
liberal and open minded. Plus compared to many places (California) cost of living is reasonable (less so in Austin though, but still does not compare to California)
We also have 3 of the largest cities in the US-so much to do
"it's like a whole other country"

GREAT-SOUTH-LOUISIANA-Mardi Gras, GREAT FOOD, outdoor sports year round, bountiful wildlife, beautiful women.
WONDERFUL-MIDWEST-KANSAS-Basketball, SNOW, fields of wheat, four seasons, German cooking, HUNKS,high education standards-honest, "shoot from the hip" people-clean. Without a doubt, you will never see a bluer sky than in Kansas. Best month-April, I swear you can almost smell the snow melting.

Zntke711...here is your backup. I love being from the South. I love the people, the food, and the atmosphere. It also helps that I'm from the party capital of the world (Louisiana). But...I won't be here much longer. As soon as I graduate...I'll be moving to the midwest looking for a job. That's where most of the jobs in my chosen field are.
