Lightbulb Recruitment in Indiana

Being from Texas, I know a little bit about comptetive recruitment. But I was wondering if anyone had any information on Purdue University or Indiana University. Now I hear that Indiana is super competitive. How do either universities compare to Texas?
Now, I know at big universities that recs, and social resume's need to be top notch. I guess my real question is how competitive are they? Is either university tied up in "in-state student status"? Would an out of state girl have a shot? And does anyone know on average how many girls go sign up for recruitment for each school.

I know Indiana isn't the SEC or TEXAS, but I hear that these two schools are pretty competitive for being midwest.

Any info would help. (I promise not to bump this until I get an answer. I'm just hoping for a few answers.)

I don't know about Purdue, but alot has been said about IU here on GC and how competitive it is. They have deferred recruitment in January. The school does not use the standard quota. Instead, every chapter takes as many girls as they have room for in their chapter houses. As a result, each chapter only takes a certain number. This makes for a VERY competitive environment. These 2 threads have alot of good info about IU recruitment:

Yes, out of state girls have a shot. I had several friends who went to IU and received bids because they kept their options open.

The only school in Indiana besisdes IU that is super competitive is DePauw, and even they are nothing like Texas. DPU is a private school where most PNMs are from out of state.

As an outstate student you definitely have shot. IU's recruitment is very competitive, not sure how it compares to Texas because I don't know anyone at UT, but I can say firsthand that it REALLY helps if you know people in the IU system when going through. Recs are important as well as grades, and some chapters have their HQs in Indy, so there is a lot of involvement from their nationals.
