Hey everyone. I am wondering how competitive USF recruitment is? I would love to be involved with a sorority. I will be coming in as a junior transfer. Will that lessen my chances? I don't really know any one at USF who is Greek, but I do have a close family friend graduating from UNF who would write me a recommendation for hers.
I definitely plan on rushing and truly with an open mind.. Though any insight would be greatly appreciated
I have heard that USF is not as competitive as say, UF or FSU. There have been instances of juniors and transfers getting bids. However, like most schools, there are probably some chapters who are only interested in freshmen/sophs so you may face some heavy cuts early on. Recs wouldn't be a bad idea.

I went to USF and went through recruitment as a junior. I was cut by 3 chapters after the first day, but so were freshmen and sophomores. I also attended the maximum amount of pref parties. This was a few yrs ago. Now USF has a seperate quota for juniors and seniors so its easier for them to get bids. Plenty of juniors and even some seniors get bids, you just have to keep an open mind,be active/talkative, and have a good GPA. Good luck!

Go Bulls!! Although they have a seperate quota for juniors and seniors, I would still try to get some recomendations. As a former president it was easier to remember the girls with the recomendations as opposed to the other Juniors or Seniors who did not. I'm not saying they didn't get bids but it helps and shows a little bit of an effort on your part.
As some of the ladies have said before me, recs are a good thing to have at USF. Though there is separate quota for juniors and seniors, it always gives you the edge by having letters of recommendations.

I'm going through recruitment this year at USF. Are you still planning to be there? I'm a junior also. I was going to do it last year but I wasn't able to.
Good luck with recruitment ladies. Everyone has been working really hard to make sure it is a great time for you all. If you have any questions let me know. I hope you all find your homes!
I was a senior @ USF when I got a bid. I did have recommendations and was very involved with USF at the time too. I was in a local greek sorority for 2 years before I transfered. And now I'm an advisor for my sorority @ USF
