Bristol Palin FINALLY has the baby
Well, about time that Bristol has finally delivered her baby and true to family tradition, gave him a weird name....
Maybe now we can put to rest the conspiracy theory that Trigg was actually Bristol's child, not Sarah's.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~
Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has given birth, FOX News confirmed.
Palin and her boyfriend Levi Johnston, both 18, are parents to a healthy 7 lb., 4 oz., baby boy in Palmer, Alaska.
"We think it's wonderful," Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath, told People.com. "The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."
Jones told People.com that the baby's name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.
Palin is currently residing in Wasilla and completing her high-school diploma through correspondence courses. The baby's father is an apprentice electrician and has been dating Bristol for three years.
The new parents previously told reporters this year they plan to wed in 2009 and raise the child together.
The media has treated it as if the baby is the next King of England. Hopefully, we can put this pregnancy to rest and wish the family the best in raising this child.
I was a little surprised that Tripp was called "a weird name". I know at least three Tripps - all of them from being "John Doe III". Maybe Levi is a Junior, and they didn't want Levi, so went with Tripp? I've also known a few Kips, for being IV. Maybe it's a regional thing.
I always think of Jack Tripper (come and knock on our dooooooooooooor, we've been waiting for yoooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu) when I hear Tripp. Now Kip I've heard of, but it was short for Kipling (his parents were English professors).
I don't think Tripp is weird nickname, but a full name?
Trigg was weirder though...
It's weird to be called Tripp if you are not the third. Same goes for Tre/Trey
I like Tripp, and although I know it more as a nickname, I think it's a pretty cool name. It does seem odd that Tripp was selected, since it's not so dissimilar from "Trig," especially since they're less than a year apart in age.
I think Trigg comes from Norwegian. Not sure of the spelling, but "tryg" means "safe." It does sound weird in English though. There are plenty of Norwegian names that I'd never name an American kid cause they're weird. "Odd" and "Even" are both Norwegian names!
If I ever marry a guy with the last name of Nelson, Gunnar is out. If my child took after me he'd have gorgeous hair, it would just be cruel.
I know a woman with the last name of Dixon, she always wanted a boy named Mason but that was off the list once she was married.
ONLY because it finally (should) satisfy the people who insisted that Trig was actually Bristol's baby, not Sarah's. There is no way that both children could be Bristol's. I agree that there is no other reason for anyone outside the family to be interested.
