New Member Ed

Hey Girls-
I'm the new member assistant for our chapter At Bradley University. The NME and I are looking for some some ideas to break up cliques in our mew member class. This year we received 30 new girls and we haven't had this many girls in YEARS in the las 5 or 6 years we have had new member class of about 13 or so.
Also I am going to be running for the NME position this fall and I was wondering how you all presented the material to the new members. As of now we just have binders with information about SDT printed in it and I was looking for something new to try or at least present to the chapter.
Thanks for all your help

Love -n- Sigma

This thread is about cliques:

http://greekchat.com/gcforums/showth...hlight=cliques

It's not very lengthly, but to sum it up... have activities that "force" girls to hang out/work with each other. That sounds bad, but I hope you know what I'm getting at. Read this thread and you'll know.

And sometimes, if you have larger new member classes, there are going to be cliques no matter what, and there might be nothing you can do about it. Some people are closer than others.

And this thread is about different ways to educate new members, other than simply having them read from their manuals:

Use the search function. It will be your best friend.

As for having them learn stuff, turn it into a game. It's fast and fun, and usually works Bingo & Jeopardy are two favorites.

As for cliques..honestly, the biggest pledge class my chapter ever had while I was around was 5 (small commuter school with 3 NPCs & 3 locals.....) so I can't help you with that, sorry!
