I am 40 years old, currently attending a county college part time. Will I have to complete county college first and them attend 4 year institution to pledge?

It depends on the type of organization you're trying to pursue.

Is a county college the same as community college?

Ok, and thank you for the quick reply. My next question is, is the undergraduate pledging the same for students who go the traditional route "straight from high school" to college opposed to those who are "re-entering" college?

Well, obviously, the mindset of an 18 year old will be different than that of a 40 year old. Because of your age/experiences, you're going to approach things very differently and may not get the "traditional" experience.
Because of the age difference, some organizations at competitive schools will not allow you to pledge.
If your username is a hint, though, at what organization you're looking into, it may be a little different.

The pledging, I'd imagine, would be the same for everyone in the pledge class.
