"can someone please tell me about greek life at UBC, Canada. "
Sure can, it's called GOOGLE.COM - use it.
Also, insert 'oucheba' between the last two letters of your name.
Thank you, that is all.

Some advice:
Reputations are typically subjective and based on rumors, hearsay, etc.
As such, we do not discuss them here on GC. That's just how our site is. It's considered rude and inappropriate to do so. A
Also, should you a sorority member in real life, they'll also find it to be weird, rude and inappropriate, so please don't do that.
It's best to just form your own opinions once you begin the recruitment process.
Also, I would HIGHLY suggest changing your username, since you are not a member of DG. It is considered quite rude and presumptuous for women who are not members of sororities to put sorority names/letters and such in their usernames. It is particularly so when there are UBC Delta Gammas who actually post here.
Hopefully you'll take my advice on this.

I'm going to be straight up: for a Canadian school, sorority recruitment at UBC is definitely competitive.
They have a website here: http://www.ubcsororities.com/
If you are considering recruitment for Sept 2009, now is the time to clean up one's act and "tidy up" things like inappropiate photos on Facebook / MySpace etc. ( thinking of the girl who was dropped from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Camp, due to photos that would potentially embarrass the DCC organization).
Now is the time to be mindful of your personal conduct. Women can, do, and will "talk" and you *never know* who has a sorority connection via their sister / cousin / next door neighbour / coworker, etc.
Some members also have little sisters who are still in HS... sorority members could ask these highschoolers what your reputation is. Be aware of this. It's best to mind your P's & Q's. Vancouver is smaller than you think.
One final point is one does not "join" a sorority, they are INVITED to join a sorority. ( thinking back to girls who say, "I'm going to join XYZ"....., which comes across as presumptuous.)
My advice is direct, but I feel that it's better to be direct, than to misinform someone by blowing sunshine up their proverbial derriere.
That is all.

i admit my question isnt really of utmost importance or anything... but its something i wanna know about because im still making my decision between ubc and university of washington and i wanted to know...
but thats anyway yeah...

Are you saying that you would base the decision on where you would matriculate on the reputation of that school's DG chapter? That's crazy. What happens when/if the DGs at either school don't want you?

There are several ladies here who are current members of UBC sororities and there are some who are alum advisors. Same goes for UW. I'd watch your mouth if I were you. Girls have had shitty rushes before because of things they have said on GreekChat. It's not as anonymous as you think, hun.

Definitely! Check your self, girlie!
