Wedding Song

I was just curious to know if any of you out there in GreekChat world have a favorite wedding song. For those of you that are married, what was your wedding song? For those of you who aren't, what would you like for it to be?

For me, it would be "My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration" by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Yes, I know I took it back, but I've always liked that song and thought it was very pretty. I guess that when I heard it again in "The Wood," it brought it to mind again.

Our "first dance" song was "At Last" by Etta James. We had an entire playlist of songs that played throughout the reception, however.

God In My Corner and You By My Side (I don't really know what the title of the song is but this is a verse of it and it is performed by a male)
Wedding Song by John P. Kee off the new CD Not Guilty
You by Jesse Powell

and of course Here and Now by Luther Vandross

There are others and I'm sure my boyfriend would add to this list.

Girl, I'm sure you know that great minds think alike. I also say WHEN I get married, and not if. I have always loved these two songs, but I wasn't sure if I would play the first one at my reception until I heard it again when my cousin played it for me to play around singing it. Girl, it almost made me cry, because I had forgotten how beautiful it was. You never know, I might still play it.

I just wanted to correct myself. Teddy Pendergrass sings this song, not him with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. I saw The Wood on Saturday and I looked closely at the closing credits and found out this information.

The first song my husband and I will dance to will be:

I'm so in love with you- Al Green. I know its ole school but it's our song and it's really romantic.

Other songs that will be played are:
This Must Be Love- Brian McKnight
For You I Will- Monica
Love- Musiq
Crave- I don't know who sings this song, but, it's on "The Wood" soundtrack. (If you find out lil_sunshine please let me know!)
When I'm With You- I don't know who sings this song.
We Must Be In Love- I don't know who sings this song.

The list can go on and on...I'll just wait to see wait to see what everyone else says before I write more...

Ladies it has been A LONG TIME since I've been here and what a way to come back!

WHEN we get married our song is: If This World Were Mine - Luther Vandross.....we have that on our voice mail at home...it is SOOOO beautiful.

I just get teary eyed thinking about it.

Also, I plan to sing to him: #12 on The Soul Food Soundtrack: You are the Only Man for Me - En Vogue. But no Wedding is complete with out : Always & Forever (the original version)

Im_just-me: When I'm With You - Tony Teri and We Must Be In Love - Pure Soul (They are four women) that's a good album. The also did Stairway to Heaven.....beautiful. The last song on their album I think is called The Woman That I Am...It's not really a wedding song, but it is a pick me up song for that Independent Woman who has her moments.

Marc Dorsey sings this song. I looove this song too, girl (I thought I was the only one who knew about this song )!!! Marc also sings "People Make the World Go Round" on the Crooklyn soundtrack. I looove that song too.

I've finally made up my mind about this and now I feel better. Now I just need to decide precisely when I'll play these three songs....
