Bravo's Top Chef New York

I saw where others are watching it too, and since the new season has just begun it's time to start a thread.

I was a little lost last week; too much going on at once. I think there will be some drama with the Europeans vs. the New Yorkers and Team Rainbow vs. whoever.

ETA: I almost felt as though Ariane should have gone home because of her answer that she experiences new cuisines "from books". Bad Answer and Wrong Answer.

Ariane should DEFINITELY have gone home. Why would you want someone that old around to make rookie mistakes? Not to mention Patrick was just too precious....

Is anyone gonna ever tell Jaime to stop making every meal with scallops? Fabian is right, it's called Top Chef not Top Scallop.

I don't know if the judges have caught on yet though, or if they even care. I would have sent her home.

I liked Eugene and sad to see him go

I liked him, too.

eta - and Jaime lost me with "hooty-hoo". Is she a Chi Omega?

if I'm not mistaken...Carla said that whenever she goes out with her husband, if they loose each other one will yell "hooty" and the other "hoo" until they find each other.

I just got into this season a few weeks ago...Jaime really needs to make something other than scallops, or she's getting the boot

CARLA - that's who I meant. CARLA and the "hooty-hoo". Which sounds cute, but without the husband, eh.

I like Carla. Especially when she told the judges "I didn't try to wow you with pizzazz" and then did her little move. I want her to win.

I'm sorry, but Leah should have been booted last night. Ariane did what she could and the other two (gagging me that they are lovebirds) threw her under the bus.

I too am on Team Carla.

So, who do you think will make the finals?
Stefan, for sure.
At first, I thought Fabio, but he has floundered a bit.
The lovebirds (Leah and Hosea) will be out soon; neiter is that good and they are boring.
I don't think Jeff or Radhika are that talented.
Scallop Jamie is good, but I agree that she needs to move beyond the mollusk.

Sad to see Ariane go. I was pulling for her.

Like everyone else, I like Carla. I'd also like to see Radhika do well...I'm cheering for the hometown girl.

Dito on the Radhika too... HOWEVER, I don't see either them going far... esp. Carla... Radhika may sneak into the final 3 but she needs to step it up. I don't think the judges think Carla can do anything bold and innovative...

It looks like this season is going to head towards Jamie, Stefan, and Hosea... the wild cards go to Jeff and Fabio, with Carla, Radhika, and Leah as the underdogs. Of course, stranger season have happened as to who snuck in the finals, but usually the winners can be narrowed down easily by this time.

Leah should be the next to go. I think Hosea makes some bad decisions. Remember the Crab Salad made out of canned crab?
