question about kappa alpha theta recruitment...hmm
hey y'all! thanks for being so helpful lately as i prepare to go through rush at ole miss. i have another question...
i recently contacted a kappa alpha theta alum about writing a rec for me. she told me that she'd be happy to do it, but that (and i will almost directly quote, here) the new policy concerning recs states that the school must contact them for the letters. i am in the process of finding recs for nine greek organizations, and this is the first i've heard of this. i sent an email to KAT head of recruitment at ole miss to find out what i need to do, but have not heard back. what's the deal here?
thanks for all of your help! :-)

You may want to find another Theta to write a recommendation.

co-sign. either she does not understand how to write a rec. or she does not want to write one. just don't mention your encounter with this member, when you find another to write the rec.

What is co-sign? Is that when an alum signs a rec letter that another alum has written? Could someone tell me the purpose of this (are the power of two alums better than one)?

She was agreeing with the other poster, not suggesting a joint letter. (If I'm reading it correctly)

Cracker Barrel is right, she was agreeing with what the other poster said when she wrote "Co-sign."
As far as two recs go, I know Chi Omega requires two alumnae signatures on the rec. Depending on the competitiveness of the school, sometimes PNMs like to secure multiple recs to each house. In most cases, though, one rec is sufficient.
And regarding "two alums being better than one" -- well, that's not really for you to know because you're treading into Membership Selection territory, and that's just private.

i thought i'd update y'all on the status of this...i heard from the theta alum a few days ago, and she told me that while "technically" the schools are supposed to contact her, that she would go ahead and write it. weird! at least i'm getting it in, though. hopefully her words are kind. )
