Okkkkk...but wait! Delta Delta Delta is currently running a Life Loyal campaign. Do I see those words in the clue? Yes I do! But what about "St. Patrick's Day"? Could that be a reference to the fact that Tri Delta was founded on a holiday (Thanksgiving) and that she received her invitation on a holiday as well? Or perhaps it's a reference to Tri Delta's founding in Boston (I dunno, lots of Irish folks, the Boston Celtics, etc)?

Or how about this? Delta Delta Delta's national philanthropy is the St. Jude Children's Research Hosptial. Hello? Another Saint?

I must say, "The land, the sea, the sky" definitely seems to apply to Tri Delta more than anyone (pine tree, trident, stars/moon). Though, in the actual sample poem selections, the Tri Delta one just doesn't seem to "pack a punch" for me. The ADPi one is better.

Lake, I think you win an award for the most helpful yet unhelpful clues ever! LOL

"Clue #2 has nothing to do directly with St. Patrick's Day (the holiday). It has nothing to do with the date March 17 and the org wasn't founded during the month of March."

The color green has special significance for Tri Delta, and is the color of our pledge pin. Also one of our symbols is the pine tree, which implies green and our flag is green and white.

I think it could be Tri Delta!

Best of luck, Lake!

I don't think it is ADPi:
1) Our AI's are invited to membership, rather than pursuing AI.
2) We don't have a specific AI chairman, and Lake mentioned hearng from an AI chairman.
3) There are no open chapters currently in Minnesota.
4) Our badge has a specific shape: the diamond (the raised clasped hands are just one of several symbols on our badge)

****
Point of clarification about ADPi AI:

PNAM's, please do not contact ADPi HQ, alumnae or collegians about AI. Only a handful of ADPi AI are initiated each year, and the initial contact is initiated by ADPi members, not PNAMs. While this may be frustrating, please understand that AI is still a very new program for this sorority, and we're treading lightly as we explore membership opportunities. (As a past alumnae director, I used to interview AI candidates and move them onto Grand Council for final approval. There is a certain protocol to follow.)

/end hijack and again, best of luck to Lake and the GC PNAM's seeking AI.

With the clues I'm torn between ADPi and Tri-Delt. The only thing that is keeping me torn is the badges and clue three. The diamond of our badge can be considered specific and so could the crescent moon w/stars on the Tri-Delt badge. That clue is so open to interpretation.

Clue two; I have absolutely no idea about. Navane made great points in favor of both ADPi and Tri-Delt about that clue.

Of course I'm biased towards ADPi but I'm just hoping that Lake will TELL US SOON!!!!!!!!!!!

Girl, I'm gonna hop on a plane and picket your house with a sign that says "TELL US NOW!!!!" LOL.

I def. think it's Tri-Delta... the St. Patty's Day thing also reminded me of their colors and that their nm pin is green enamel.

I really feel you on this one. This clue is the one I can't seem to relate to ADPi in any way (other than the poem), but I just don't know.

AAH! These AI clues are making me go batty!

No matter where you will be, it will be your home. I am so happy for you that you found that home and that you are so very excited about it.

Congratulations on becoming a part of the Greek community and welcome.

I hope that you really get involved with alum life and really get to know your sisters. I am very happy for you.

Well, the check was cashed last week, but I still haven't heard back from anyone about an initiation date. I really hate to be a nag, but this is killing me! Plus I feel like time is really starting to slip away, and I want to be able to be initiated yet this spring.

Hopefully I'll have some news for you soon.

hehehe seriously!

Lake: I don't think you would be "nagging" them if you called them up and asked about info for your initation. IMHO it is great to be assertive and it shows you are interested in joining to begin experiencing the sorority and joining the alum chapter

I know how Lake feels. There's a fine line between being "enthusiastic" and appearing to be a "pest." It's hard to know when you're stepping over that line.

When a sorority doesn't do many AIs (which seems to be the case for the GLO Lake is pursuing)-- sometimes things unintentionally fall between the cracks. If AI is very rare for that particular organization, the people who are trying to help you may not fill out a proper form or contact the right people-- or they may skip an important step and not realize it. That's why it's so important to follow up, follow up, and follow up some more. But she needs to do so tactfully and respectfully.

I would suggest Lake contact an Alumna of the organization she wants to be a part of on the GC board in confidence for some behind the scenes help and advice.
