Oh plenty of things belong in this thread:

*When a child is totally rude and their parent laughs and thinks it's cute. For example: my friend's 3 year old pushed her cousin and said "get out of my way." Instead of telling her "That's not how you speak to people," she laughed.

*When people complain about their weight, while eating a Big Mac. Seriously?

*Maybe it's just because I'm not originally from here, but Ohio people who have never been anywhere outside of their small Ohio town and have never heard of ANYTHING. They're from Smalltown, OH, and have never even been anywhere and they like that way.

*People who quote movies on Facebook, but get the quotation TOTALLY wrong.

*Intentionally misspelled words on the internet, such as lyke, luv, and becuz. Did you go to school, or were you just visiting?

*When people list MAGAZINES in their "Favorite Books" section. Vogue is not a book.

*Diet-conscious people who feel the need to tell me the amount of fat/calories in my food while I'm eating it. I don't care.

*When people make their engagement ring their profile pic on FB. Then when you check their profile, they have entire albums featuring JUST the ring. I get that you're excited, and pic or 2 with your fiance and the ring is fine, but I don't think it needs its own album.

*Music snobs. You know, the kind of people who make fun of others because they listen to bands that are popular. They also always feel the need to tell you that they "saw *insert popular band here* at *insert event here* before everybody else liked them. Who cares?

*When people are late and don't call me and let me know.

*Going out with my friends who have kids, and having to listen to them talk about their kids all night. Do you have no other interests? I don't want to hear about Kaylee's diaper rash while I'm eating my pad thai.

*Loud noises, especially vacuum/appliance noises. I hate them.

I have the DARRTC mutation...

Anyhooo

I get pissed off when what I say gets totally misinterpreted and misconstrued. In this day and age of the Web 2.0 there could be better communication!!!

I get PO'ed with people who make ASSumptions about me without even knowing me... WTF???

I get PO'ed when people from WAAAAYYYY back ask to join my facebook and remember me in a certain way when dude, I'm married now and live a NORMAL BORING LIFE!!! I am not beginning to try to relive a life I gave up in my 20's!!!

Better yet: People who misspell the title of their favorite movie/book/music group/album. Although, that doesn't really piss me off so much as make me LOL. Like, if this is your favorite and you've revisited it many times, wouldn't you get the spelling right?

50% of this post I'm totally on board with.

The other half? Well, kiddo . . . those are things that piss me off. Half-ironic is probably pretty good though.

I totally agree with:
#1- Because I am a server and would rather chuck chicken tenders at your rude child than serve them to them.

#2- Again, I am a server and deal with this constantly, "Ill have the fried cheese sticks, the bacon cheeseburger with extra mayo...annnnd a diet coke....OoO! I hope i save room for dessert!" Realllllly?? Do you think that diet coke will save you???

#8- One of my friends in another sorority just got engaged, only after dating her fiance for a year and a half. She made her ring her pic, plus changed about every category on her profile to include how much she loved him. PLUS she constantly updates her status and ends 90% of them with "I LOVE YOU FIANCE!" It really annoys me and most of our mutual friends lol.

Things that really piss ME off:

#1: Overdramatic people who are always complaining how shitty there life is and how much drama is in there life...when they are the ones creating the drama!!!

#2: Dirty looks from girls when your out with your friends. Sorry we're hotter than you!!

#3: People that brag to your face and don't realize how superdouchey they sound.

#4: People that drove below the speed limit. (This is probably my boyfriends number 1)

#5: White people (particularly girls) that dress/act/talk like black people. Don't try to be someone your not, cause ya just look pitiful.

#6: People that talk down to me like I'm a child. Umm hell no, I'm probably smarter than you

#7: Middle schoolers, or pretty much ages 12-16. They think they know everything. I once had a pregnant 16 yr old and her "posse" follow me and my brother around the mall. They were old friends of my bro's that he didnt want to be around anymore. I told him to ignore them. Well that girl didnt like that very much so she called me a whore. Ummm excuse me, your PREGNANT with your SECOND kid at 16 and I'M the whore? That was exactly what I said and that is what shut her up. Haha laughable.

#8: When I am at work and my tables ignore me, or interrupt me, or tip me like crap for no reason.

#9: When my tables at work treat me like a personal slave (did I mention I work at a Mediterranean restaurant where the majority of customers are Arabic? Nothing against them, I actually adore the language, but in their culture they have personal servants that live with them over in the Middle East. Cool there, not so much for 24 yr old American girls like me.)

........ok so I pretty much get pissed about everything in the restaurant industry lol.

When people let their children scream in any public place. Restaurants, malls, stores.

I also really believe that there should be "no-children" sections of restaurants, because it seems like most of the time parents don't make their children behave. At my house it would have been "let the beatings begin!"

The little boy in the shop yesterday who kept pretending to round house kick everything, talking like he was outside, touching EVERYTHING in the store and being a general nuisance. He also interrupted me as I was talking to another adult. When I gave him that look, he shut up. When is mom acted offended, I gave her that look too.
It is NOT my fault that your child cannot behave himself, that is totally your screw up. Own it, claim it and DO BETTER!

And another thing: Just because I am not laughing and joking with you, do not run back to my supervisor and say that I have a bad attitude and am being "snippy". My attitude is fine, I just don't like you.

SERIOUSLY. When I was at Target and people would make inappropriate jokes I would just stare at them. They'd get all upset and say things like "What, you don't have a sense of humor?"

Sometimes (if I thought I could get away with it) I would say something to the effect of "Would you rather I gave you fake laughter? Or would it be better that you said something actually funny and I was actually laughing?"

People who sign up for fund raisers without any intention of doing any fund raising.

People who sign up for anything and then tell you four days before the event that they can't participate.

People who walk really slow down the MIDDLE of the street so I can't pass them

Those obnoxious couples who call each other "baaaaaby" and other "cute" pet names, never leave each others side, and make surrounding people want to vomit. I mean, get a life outside the two of you, you guys are screwed if you break up.

Getting drunk dialed or drunk texted. I'm sorry, I have better things to do at 3am. Like sleep.

And right now, its people who go on the internet and post fake recruitment stories.

Yes, I realize that I turned 25 and we don't have kids, but I like zoos and I have made a point to at least try to go to the zoo in every city that I've lived in. Plus it's free and money's tight right now and the weather was beautiful yesterday.

So, on to what pisses me off. There were SO MANY people there who had little to no control over their rugrats. I mean, I realize a zoo is a family place and we're going to run into kids and some of them will misbehave. That's fine. But we couldn't get over the sheer number of a-hole kids and a-hole parents there!

1. Children pounding on glass and screaming at the small mammals exhibits.
2. One child throwing peanuts into the seal tank while his father looked on and laughed. Never mind that there are 30,000,000 signs all over the park that say "Our animals are on very strict diets please do not feed them."
3. One mother with her three kids who left them outside one of the cafes so that she could go in and get napkins. While the children are climbing all over OTHER PEOPLE'S TABLES birds swoop in and snatch all their food. Should I mention that the boys were probably twins (no older than 3) and the little girl was no older than 6. Later the mom was too into talking on her cell phone to keep her kids from climbing on a statue. This statue is a sore point with me because there were NUMEROUS children acting like a-holes on it.
4. Children climbing on statues while their parents looked on. I about had a heart attack while one boy was STANDING ON TOP of an artsy looking statue that didn't have a level point on top and he was a good ten feet in the air.
5. One child threw a gatorade bottle at the black leopard cage. The sign said that black leopards are nocturnal, it even explained what nocturnal means. Now, this may be me, but I would never want to wake up a sleeping JUNGLE ANIMAL. Cage or not, I'm sure that leopard is freaking scary when it's pissed.
6. Children climbing on railings, specifically the ones around the Lion's little outdoor area. The railing is there, then there's about 3 feet, then a really steep drop to the floor. I suppose the lions can't come right up to the railing but they certainly can get to that bottom drop thing (their water dishes were down there). Do you really wanna let your kids climb on that railing? What are you people doing, trying to make the 5 o'clock news?

The one common thing between all of these misbehaving kids was that their parents DID NOT stop them from doing what they were doing, and (as far as I could see) they didn't discipline their kids for pulling these a-hole moves. I understand you don't wanna punish your kid in public, people, but seriously there's a point where they're endangering themselves, the animals, and other people by doing what they're doing.

There were other kids pulling a-hole moves but their parents swooped in and disciplined them. Kudos to them for having the balls to stand up to their kids. Specifically to the mom who smacked her kid's hand as she was pushing and shoving other kids trying to pet the snake (when the keeper specifically said one at a time), THANK YOU. I know you don't wanna hit your kid, but smacking a hand is hardly abusive.

Live-in and I debated about whether or not we should get our tubes tied, then decided that if our kids are going to misbehave at the zoo, they're not going to get to go to the zoo or they're going to have to leave. It's a free zoo, people, it's not like you lost any money!

tl;dr: People are jerks and so are their stupid kids.
Co-sign co-sign co-sign with this post. I also can't stand children at aquariums banging on the glass while their parents do nothing to stop them.

What honked me off at Ikea today...

****The 6-year old girl who spent 2 minutes poking her finger in a frame to tear off a piece of plastic..while the mom looked the other way.

****The three children under 6 who thought it would be great fun to use rolled up towels to hit each other with.

****The other three kids under 6 who thought it was fun to have a track meet in the store. Mom was upset when management told them to stop it.

While grading papers....

****Seeing how many adults do not know the difference between "your" and "you're". Just sad.

*Having a group project and being "The Person In the Group who Does Everything."

*The fact that a little kid almost drew on my purse with a marker at Kinkos and her parent didn't say a word.
