I am so glad Whitney won!-but for a plus size model, isn't she a little thin? She can't be more than a 10.

Whitney was on Regis and Kelly this morning and said she wears an 8 or 10. She gave such a great interview. I couldn't even imagine Anya doing something like that.

Plus size models have a much greater range of sizes that are still able to get work. A size twelve used to be the average "plus size model". Which I found insane since that's not plus size. If she's an 8-10 she'll be able to get work for "higher end" labels who don't really want to be in the business but feel they have to in order to be competitive. She'd be too small to work for Lane Bryant though.

I thought Anya looked amazing during the runway. I don't think she did a great job, but her face was gorgeous.
And Whitney had to win in my book. Once she was in the final 2 anyway. It was one of those things that ANTM couldn't let pass by. If they didn't have a "full-figured" model win this cycle, who knows when another would come near the top 2 again (they've not had good luck previously).
Whoever said Fatima was way too thin earlier was spot on. I get she's from Africa and has gone through a lot, but she's not even size 0 skinny, she's thinner. It's NO good.

As much as i LOVE MAC and Sephora (i know they have a brand of cosmetics, but i'd say they're more of a chain that sells other brands), the average girl isn't using those. MAYBE a couple of items on a splurge, but everyday makeup in the makeup case... not so much. Sephora isnt everywhere right...? There are 3 i frequent often but what doesnt NYC have? (though i imagine in metro areas/better malls these names are common) i just figure the appeal of CG spreads wider.

I actually watched this morning (was at the dentist office) and i didn't see this season, but against the other girl, her looks wouldve made me root her her. I noticed INSTANTLY that she was plus-sized, and thought, wow OK Miss Tyra...

I went to school with a plus sized model (nothing major she said, a couple catalogs here and there) and she had horror stories of the few jobs she got from high-end labels that--GASP--carried a size 10-12-14-16 and treated her like the plague at shoots.

I wanted Anya to win solely because she's hometown girl, but I am very happy that Whitney won. I haven't watched last night's episodes yet, but judging from past performances, Whitney's clearly the right choice because she speaks and people can understand her!
Now that Whitney's won, I hope we never ever get to see or hear Saleisha ever again. She sounds horrible and the whole "Saleisha-gate" thing was just too much.

In that case, I think she's lost weight since the end of filming. I can't remember which episode, but it was one of the last 3 or so that either Whitney or Tyra stated Whit was a 12.

Lol at "Saleisha-gate." Well, the whole thing wasn't really her fault, was it? She didn't start the drama surrounding her and it wasn't her that beat the whole thing into the ground. I like Saleisha...I just like Whitney better.

Re: CoverGirl Sponsorship
I'm not sure if someone else mentioned this and I just missed it, but CoverGirl's sponsorship of ANTM's winner didn't start until season 3 with Eva Pigford. The first season I don't think they had a campaign sponsor, and the second season (with Yoanna House) was a Sephora sponsorship.

I, too, am very glad they chose Whitney!

The first season was supposed to be Revlon, but I guess Adrianne has said that she didn't get anything she was supposed to get out of the "contract" - exposure or $$. Then again, Revlon has a whole stable of celebrities that they use in their ads, they really didn't/don't need another one. Whether that was Revlon's, Tyra's, or the agency's fault, who knows.

Yeah, I don't know about that. Adrianne has changed her story a few times. First she said the thing with Revlon was only for a two day event and she never got paid for it and Tyra backstabbed her and all this crap. Then she said she still had animosity with Revlon, but Tyra was a very fair person and nice person throughout. I guess we'll never know.

She only changed her mind about Tyra because Tyra got her mafia and threatened to cut Adrienne off at the knees. Nobody crosses Tyra, NOBODY. lol. I think this would be funny if this is true... Tyra is the head of the gay mafia, she took over for David Geffen

Interesting...Adrienne did land that diamond campaign after ANTM, but it wasn't one of the "prizes."

Well she landed the Brady Bunch guy too but that wasnt a prize either. though she'd have you believe otherwise.
Im SO glad the show is 10 seasons later with bigger budgets to find better models. she was freaking wretched.

I don't know about that...compared to past cycles, this one was so "blah." Nobody really had the star quality of Eva, Danielle, Joanie, Heather, etc. These girls didn't have the fire and sparkle of past girls and they definitely weren't nearly as entertaining. Personality-wise, this cycle was like the best of the mediocre. Halfway through, I was ready for Cycle 11.
