Dionysus: That post wasn't a response to yours. Mine just came up 2nd because my computer is a little slow.
In response to your question: I choose waiting til marriage because according to my faith it's what is right. Second to that, I don't want any kids unles I'm married. Although single mothers are some of the STRONGEST and GREATEST women I have ever seen/met, I see what they struggle with. I don't want to do that. I want to be prepared and ready.
Valkyrie: Thanks for your well wishes. I'm serious, no sarcasm.

If other men aren't good enough for me to give my lifetime's worth of devotion to, then why would they be good enough to give my body...the one thing I can't ever get back, to? It's hard to put into words, like most beliefs are. But it just a feeling--I know this is right for me and that I'd be disappointed with anything else.

Let's put this all in perspective.
Without sex, the human race would be extinct. I'd say that makes it a pretty big deal. </facetiousness>

I think the question was pertaining to relationships before marriage, not so much as in general.

I was 19 when I finally decided I didnt want to wait anymore - at one time, I too thought I would wait until marriage. I'm so glad I didnt. I was engaged once before.....all I can say....if I had waited around for THAT....I would have been one very very disappointed young lady.
The problem I see with older virgins is that they have such high expectations, and while sex is great...it's usally not "great" your first time. So then you end up disappointed like "That's it, thats what I waited SOOO long for?"
GREAT sex takes practice. Practice makes it fun. And BTW, I AM getting married to the man I lost my virginity to, in a little over 6 months. We went our separate ways for a while, but we're back together now and have been for almost 2 1/2 years. Sometimes, the timing isnt right - it wasnt right for us the first time. We went separate ways, I met someone else, got engaged, realized it wasnt right, and cut it off. a couple of years later, Jonny and I found our way back to each other. I know, I bet you're all thinking this is a GAG ME story - but - it's true.
I'm glad I didn't wait. I'm glad I'm marrying the man I gave it to, but I'm glad I've experienced others as well so that I'll never wonder "what if...?"
