O/T, I saw Phil Keoghan in Hilo over the weekend at the Merrie Monarch festival. His CBS crew followed my friend's halau (hula school) during the week as they prepared for competition, literally the SuperBowl of hula...and it'll be aired in an upcoming CBS Early Show segment during May Sweeps.

Phil's a native New Zealander, so the concept of the hula isn't anything new to him. I tried to get a picture with him, but there were just too many damn people in the way!

Back on topic...

I had a feeling last night was a non-elimination leg.

The dwarf needs to fall off the Space Needle now. That is the Space Needle in next week's episode, right?

I thought it was (it certainly looked like the SN), but then the VO said something that made me think it wasn't. I know they did part of this race in Seattle, though, so that would make sense.

Okay, so the Space Needle kinda looks like the Macau Tower, lol.

These non-Philimination legs are driving me crazy. I'm happy that the CHA CHAs are still there...but eliminate somebody already!

Well, since Phil said it's the last nonelimination round, I think we're safe to say someone will go home next week!

I was telling my mom right at the end (before the Cha Chas checked in) that they have to be keeping all four, since the TV guide for this week (that I just skimmed through Saturday) said that the next episode is the "penultimate leg" of the race...last year, I wouldn't have known what "penultimate" meant

I may be in the minority, but I'm ready for Danielle and whatever-his-name-is to go. He gets on my nerves with the way he talks to her and talks about others.

I'm right there with you. Eric and Danielle annoy me!

I'm still rooting for the beauty queens. They've been consistently good racers, and they don't fight.

I can't stand the way Eric talks to/about Dani, making comments about her "boobs" and whatnot and calling Kandace and Dustin "dirty hookers" just because they Yielded them. In general he's just been disrespectful of women on both of the races he's been on and I'm tired of it. Time for the first all-female team to win The Race!

AXO Alum will be taking donations to buy you some better CRACK to smoke! j/k I despise those two & would have personally loved to see them get rear-ended while trying to drive the car. Eric & SwissMiss need to go with them - a super double elimination round would be worth it!

I also love, aside from Eric's constant degrading remarks, how SwissMiss has taken to calling the BQ's "the blondes" or "blondies" -- um hello, look in a mirror much? Just cause they are PRETTY & don't wear zippy tops to show their boobage all over TV doesn't mean you gotta be a hater.

Team Cha-Cha all the way - I really thought they'd be going home on Sunday - let's hope they can make it work this time!

I've also read about who's going to win. But sometimes those things are not reliable.

I pray every week that Schirmna will go away. They (meaning mainly Mirna) are completely insufferable. Anybody but them.

I liked Eric when he and Jeremy were racing together, but he's wearing thin on me this go around. Perhaps its because he's paired with Danielle, who gives me Flo-flashbacks. Perhaps being paired with her makes the "guy" comments and trash talk come off worse, perhaps they bring out the worst in each other.

Sometimes (not always), I think he gets a little of a bum rap -- despite what he said about "dirty, pirate hookers," his body language suggested he really wasn't mad and was just trash-talking. When he laughed when Danielle slipped and fell, it was clear that she was laughing, too.

Still, enough already. (But his comment in Poland when one of the BQs threw up -- "Ladies and Gentlemen, Miss Calfornia!" -- may have been the best line of the season. To her credit, the BQ laughed.) Using the Yield may be bad strategy, but it's not dirty playing, it's part of the game. Let it go.

I'll be happy with either the BQs or Cha-Cha-Cha.
