What’s up with Producer Quincy Jones dating a 19-year old Egyptian Fashion Designer? He’s 73…old enough to be her great-grandfather! Has he lost his mind? Can’t he find a woman in her 50’s to date. You know the old saying: there’s no fool like an old fool.
Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons continue their marital charade. Russell is about to sell their $20 million mansion. I’m sure Kimora will get the profits. Russell has been hot and heavy with a white model named Temla Thormattosidir, and he is ready to get on with his life. He and Kimora will continue to be business partners and raise their daughters, but the love has gone. They are both releasing fragrances this fall. Russell has Phat Farm: Spirit of a Man, and Kimora has Baby Phat: Golden Goddess.
Eddie Murphy is telling friends he is ready to get married again. He divorced his first wife Nicole earlier this year, and now he is ending the year with a new wife. Eddie, 45, is serious about 31-year old former Spice Girl Mel B (Scary Spice). He has six kids, and she has one daughter. They already have their matching tattoos and their children have met. Eddie wants to tie the knot before the promotions kick in for his Dreamgirls movie. Friends feel Eddie is moving too fast, but he wants a wife now.
Usher is having a hard time keeping his lady in line. Usher has been quietly dating his married former stylist. Tameka Foster has three kids, and she is in the midst of a divorce. Foster has a jealous streak. She has been showing it when lady friends and former loves of Usher come to check him out on Broadway in the play Chicago. Foster is older than Usher, and she is feeling insecure about the other women.
The marriage is over for New Jersey Nets Basketball Star Vince Carter and his wife Dr. Ellen Carter. They have a one-year old daughter.
Earlier I mentioned how Eddie Murphy may be getting married before the promotions start for the movie Dreamgirls. Well, Beyonce stars in the movie alongside Eddie, and she may be getting married too. According to published reports, a $3 million dollar island extravaganza is being planned for Beyonce and Jay-Z. Word has it Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, will be designing the gown. The two have been dating since 2002. Jay-Z is 36 and Beyonce is near 30 (I love her, but she is not 24). Beyonce has got a lot going on with a new album, a new movie and possibly a new title, Wife.
The Rich get Richer! Tyler Perry has just signed a new distribution deal with TBS and the Fox Network for his syndicated TV show, House of Payne. Tyler stands to make $200 million off the deal because he owns and controls the series. New episodes with series star Allen Payne debut next June. The show will have 100 episodes.
Is Nicole Richie fooling the public? She swears she doesn’t have an eating disorder. Lionel Richie, her dad, swore to me he makes her eat, but the fact is Nicole Richie is 20 pounds underweight. She is in denial about her weight, and she could die if she doesn’t stop dieting. Word has it Nicole had stomach stapling surgery a few years ago, and that’s why she can’t gain weight. Friends say she only eats for the cameras and some days she eats less than 500 calories a day. She likes being thin and being a fashion icon, but this weight loss is killing her.
The Janet Jackson promo machine is in high gear with the upcoming release of her new CD, 20 Y.O. The album comes out on September 26th. She is scheduled to do a sit down with Oprah Winfrey, and she has some upcoming magazines coming out, including FH and Rolling Stone. Janet is revealing all including how her brother Michael used to tease her by calling her fat and how she is not ready to talk to Justin Timberlake. Timberlake admits he was wrong for leaving Janet out to dry during their Superbowl scandal. They have not spoken since the scandal. They are both releasing albums in September.
Now speaking of Michael Jackson, he has had enough of his ex-wife’s money demands. Debbie Rowe wants what was promised to her during their divorce settlement, but Michael claims she blew it when she gave an unauthorized television interview. Rowe regrets signing away the rights to her children. She wants to be a part of their lives, and she wants her promised millions from Michael Jackson. Michael just wants her to go away and leave him and the kids alone. A judge is expected to decide all of this soon.
What’s up with Ronald Isley? So far there has been no word on his sentencing for tax evasion.
Singer Ne-Yo has been the victim of an internet hoax. No, he is not gay, and he is not coming out of the closet. Ne-Yo has been having an incredible year with his debut album.
Toni Braxton says her Las Vegas critics are racists. Toni is doing a one woman revue in Las Vegas, and the reviews have not been good. There have been complaints about her mumbling while singing and her stiff dancing. Toni says she is used to people writing negative things about her because she is a Black Woman.
Girlfriends’ Tracee Ellis Ross graces the cover of Vibe Vixen magazine, and she reveals that Actress Jill Marie Jones, who played “Toni,” left the show over money issues. Girlfriends is returning for a seventh season, but the ladies had to take a pay cut. Jill said Hell To The No, and she won’t be back . The new season of Girlfriends kicks off in October on the CW Network.
Over 19 million viewers checked out Fantasia’s lifestory on the Lifetime channel. The movie was the second most watched movie in the networks 22-year history. Fantasia is planning to open a series of beauty salons that will help single mothers.
Oscar Winner Denzel Washington has a new movie called Déjà Vu coming out on November 22nd. He is currently filming the movie American Gangster with Russell Crowe.
The Queens of Comedy Behind Bars? YES! Adele Givens, Sommore and Ms. Laura are re-teaming for the film The Queens of Comedy at The Tennessee State Prison. The original Queens of Comedy are excited about their new venture, which is due out next year.
Jerry Rice has caught the reality TV bug. The wide receiver, who recently retired from the NFL, was a fan favorite when he was on Dancing with the Stars. Rice is now looking to return to TV with his own show entitled The Underdog. Rice will host the show and motivate people and communities.
It’s Girls for Diddy and Kim Porter. The happy couple are expecting twin girls later this year. They already have a young son named Christian. He has an older son named Justin from a previous relationship with Misa Hylton-Brimm. Kim also has an older son, a teenager named Quincy by Singer Al B. Sure. Kim and Diddy are excited about adding girls to the family.
Hot off of his HBO Hurricane Katrina documentary, Director Spike Lee is set to direct the 2007 Oscars Television Campaign. The 79th Annual Academy Awards air February 25th, 2007.
Director Bill Duke is bringing his next project to Philadelphia. Duke is set to direct the motion picture Cover. Cover will deal with the AIDS crisis in the African American Community, especially with women and children. Filming starts in the beginning of October with Vivica A. Fox, Louis Gossett, Jr., Loretta Devine and Singer/Dancer Mya.
New Edition is gearing up for a BET special that is scheduled to air next year.
Actor/Comedian Katt Williams premieres his HBO comedy special, The Pimp Chronicles, on September 16th. He will also be hosting the BET Hip Hop Awards in November.

Jazz Trumpeter Maynard Ferguson has died. Ferguson was 78-years old, and he died from a stomach ailment. Ferguson was best known for the Rocky theme ‘Gonna Fly Now.’

The other Singer depended on the Superstar for her drugs and lifestyle. What is she going to do now that the Superstar wants to quit the drug lifestyle?
This Pro Football Player causes controversy wherever he goes. No matter what team he’s on, he causes problems. He loves the media attention and acting like a girl. He’s on a new team causing problems, and the regular season has yet to begin. Why is he such a problem player? Why does he love controversy? His friends think his girly act is wearing thin.
