Will he want details of his marriage out in the public? This divorce will probably go down in history as one of the nastiest. If Nicole doesn’t get her money, what will she say? I can hear the book deals and interviews already.

I was very surprised that Nicole said as much as she did in Essence. This could get ugly.

On TJMS this AM, it was reported that Mr. Lester is out of the competiton. He came in 40-something.

I read somewhere this morning that there were bad complications with the surgery. Has anyone else heard this?

At the movies this week, it’s Inside Man with Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and Clive Owen. The movie was directed by Spike Lee. Lee went in a different direction for this movie. Inside Man is not your typical “Spike Lee Joint.” The movie is about a bank robbery, and Denzel plays a hostage negotiator. The movie will remind you of the 70’s classic, Dog Day Afternoon with Al Pacino, lots of twists and turns.


What’s going on with Singer Isaac Hayes, and why are his people lying to the public? Hayes has been very sick. Back in January, it was reported that he was being hospitalized for exhaustion. This was a lie. He suffered a stroke. Yes, a stroke! It was considered a mild stroke, but it affected his speech and memory. Last week, a statement was issued regarding his status with the Comedy Central show South Park. Hayes provided the voice of the character “Chef.” The statement said Hayes would not be returning to voice the character because he was uncomfortable with the way the show mocked religion, including his Scientology. Isaac Hayes did not make this statement. He can’t talk because of the stroke! He is currently in therapy trying to regain his speech. Why would his publicist lie to the public? Why the secrecy? What is going on? How could his family let this happen? Is Isaac Hayes in his right frame of mind? Does he realize what is going on? Obviously, people are taking advantage of him.


Dr. Phil and Oprah are still feuding. Dr. Phil feels Oprah’s show is getting too out of touch and “hoity toity.” Oprah feels Dr. Phil’s ego is getting out of control, and that he’s not appreciating all she’s done for him and his career.


Singer King Floyd has died. The 61-year old Singer/Songwriter was best known for the 1971 hit Groove Me.


Top plastic surgeons are urging Actress Vivica A. Fox to get rid of her current breast implants. The right breast is deflated, and you can see it when she wears low cut gowns. Doctors recommend that she get smaller implants.


Tyler Perry is headed back to the big screen. Filming starts in June on his new movie Daddy’s Little Girl. The movie is about a successful lawyer who falls in love with a janitor who has three daughters. Tyler also has a new book coming out next month, Don’t Make a Black Woman Take off Her Earrings. It’s Madea’s book of wisdom on love and life.


Keith Washington and Meli’sa Morgan will be starring in The Life Story of Marvin Gaye. This play is coming to the Liacouras Center, May 24th through the 28th.


Actress Kerry Washington (Ray, She Hate Me) has been named the newest face of L’Oreal Paris. Washington will join a list of beauties for the cosmetic line including Beyonce, Eva Longoria and Jennifer Lopez.


Later this year, look for Queen Latifah and Destiny’s Child to get the royal treatment in Hollywood. They’re all scheduled to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.


The wedding is back on for Actress Lisa Raye McCoy and the Prime Minister of Turks and Cacaos, Michael Misick. They were supposed to get married last year, but due to circumstances beyond their control, the nuptials had to be postponed. Lisa was not about to get her face cracked. This wedding was going to happen! Rumor has it Misick was a serial engager. He proposed to Lisa Raye soon after meeting her. Lisa Raye is nobody’s fool. She is through with dating. She wants to settle down and be the first lady. The wedding is set to take place on April 8th. Let’s hope for his sake there will be no more delays.


Now speaking of weddings, what’s up with Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson? First, Janet is working on losing weight. She has about 30 more pounds to go as she struggles to take off the 60 pounds she gained over the past couple of years. Plus, she needs a hit album to get her career back on track. And, if Jermaine can make it happen (he’s helping to produce her new album project), he could wind up as her third husband. At least he’s got money. The first two were broke.


Motherhood is great! This is the exciting news coming from Actress Angela Bassett and her husband Actor Courtney Vance. For years, they tried to conceive on their own. After many disappointments, they decided to have a surrogate mother step in. Earlier this year, Angela and her husband became the proud parents of twins. They are on top of the world with their bundles of joy.


Jamie Foxx has a hot new love. Foxx, 38, is romancing 24-year old Actress Meagan Goode. In published pictures, the two appeared very cozy, like they just rolled out of bed. I wonder what happened with Actress Victoria Rowell (“Drucilla” of The Young & The Restless). Just last month, he was romancing her. And, before her, there was Actress Gabrielle Union. Della Reese is coming out with a plus size clothing line. The 74 year-old actress is set to debut the Della Reese Clothing Line, April 4th on the Home Shopping Network.


Rapper/Actor Treach of Naughty by Nature is set to join the cast of the HBO hit series The Sopranos later this year.


T.O. is ready to tell all. Former Eagle Terrell Owens, now a Dallas Cowboy, is coming out with a new book in July about life as an Eagle. Sources say the book, Ineligible Receiver: The Real Story of My Journey from The Superbowl to the Sidelines, is an honest account of life in the NFL. I’m sure this book will point out everything Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb don’t want to hear.

This female is tired of being a sugar mama. Her husband is living off of her. As soon as they hooked up, he quit his job. He spends his days getting ready for the parties they attend. He rarely shows any interest in her. She is doing everything to make him notice and desire her. She recently had a tummy tuck and breast lift. Why won’t he pay her any attention? She’s thinking of hiring a private detective to find out what is keeping his attention. What is he doing while she’s at work.....or, at night when he disappears?

Issac Hayes: Have ya'll seen him in the Lays Potato Chips commercial. If he can't talk, why is he in the commercial (if they did it after he was in the hospital)? He doesn't look himself. What Patty said I have been thinking the last few days.

Now, if it didn't say breast lift and tummy tuck, I would have thought Patty was talking about Britney and Kevin. LOL at BGA getting busted!

Fantasia's life story is coming to the small screen this summer via Lifetime Television. Yesterday in New York City, network honchos Betty Cohen and Susanne Daniels announced their first ever full season programming schedule, which includes the ‘American Idol: Season Three’ winner's telepic based on her best-selling autobiography ‘Life Is Not A Fairytale.’ The project has been described as “a Cinderella story about a teenage single mother who overcame sexual abuse, poverty and illiteracy by using her incredible voice to rise to national prominence.” “Our viewers connect to Lifetime on a deep and emotional level," said Cohen. "We're becoming even more undeniably ‘for women’ by speaking to today's woman's innermost drive to find and define her own life story, with exciting new programming which will simultaneously provide both the highly emotional escape women want and the inspiration they need.”

Star Jones Reynolds is recovering from a breast-lift procedure performed last week at a Santa Monica hospital, her publicist said Wednesday.

"Star is recovering wonderfully," publicist Brad Zeifman said in a statement to The Associated Press.

The co-host of ABC's daytime talk show "The View" underwent surgery Friday. That day, husband Al Reynolds slipped at a gym and was taken to the emergency room with two cuts to the head.

"He is recovering and in good spirits," Zeifman said.

I wonder if BGA fell after looking at LaFonz!

This cracks me up. I've seen some of Diddy's gear in this line, and the sizes stop at 10 or 12. Most AfAm women are bigger, even though I bet we weren't the target.

Sean by Sean Combs Exiting Women's

NEW YORK — Diddy is sending the Sean Combs girl packing.

Sean by Sean Combs, Sean "Diddy" Combs' highly anticipated contemporary women's line that launched at retail last holiday, has closed. Market sources said the women's line shut down last Friday.

"Beginning with the fall 2006 season, we will be suspending the Sean by Sean Combs line," a spokesman for the brand said. "We are putting it on hiatus in order to concentrate on our new business with G-III for the Sean John women's line. We are not ruling out the possibility of this brand coming back in due time."

According to the spokesman, the final spring and pre-fall collections will ship to stores as planned.

Combs first announced his interest in launching a women's sportswear business in 2000. He delayed the line several times, and in February 2001 told WWD, "I'm taking my time with that and don't want to overextend myself. Our women's has been delayed to next year because I want to get it right. But it will be incredibly sexy, strong, approachable and hot."

Two years later, he teased the idea of a women's collection by sending eight looks down the runway following his men's presentation. He promised the line would be out that summer but it was again pushed back. At the time of the Sean by Sean Combs launch last June, he said, "I want women to come into my world. I want to show the diversity of this young, fun, sexy, sophisticated woman. This is the woman we aspire to have. This is the woman the Sean John man wants."

The collection was prominently displayed in Bloomingdale's flagship windows here last holiday and was selling at high-end retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. But the line only brought in $3.5 million in wholesale volume during its first six months at retail. While that isn't bad for a new contemporary collection, it isn't the high volume that Combs is used to seeing: He does $450 million at retail with Sean John men's.

"I felt that the Sean John label brought a modern, sexy edge to the contemporary world," said Robert Burke, founder of Robert Burke Associates, a consulting firm here. Burke picked up the Sean by Sean Combs line when he was working as fashion director at Bergdorf Goodman. "Sean's understanding of the consumer was unique and valid."

Just two weeks ago, Sean John signed a licensing agreement with G-III Apparel Group to manufacture and distribute a young contemporary women's sportswear collection called Sean John, set to launch for spring 2007. Within three years, G-III chief executive officer Morris Goldfarb said the brand has the potential to grow into a $100 million business at wholesale.

Combs had stressed his two women's brands could easily coexist and would cater to different customers. He said that while Sean John will mirror the men's wear in distribution and price point, it will be for a young contemporary customer, while Sean by Sean Combs was for a more high-end contemporary shopper. Combs said at the time, "I thought I'd be launching this [Sean John women's] earlier, but it took me a bit longer to launch Sean by Sean Combs. I think now is a great time to announce to the world that we're going into production on this."

Immediately prior to the agreement with G-III, there were signs of trouble for Sean by Sean Combs when Jenny La Fata, the brand's vice president of design, left to become fashion director at Le Tigre. La Fata said then that there were no problems with the Sean by Sean Combs collection. She said she had left because "Le Tigre is more my style" and "it was not a great fit anymore."

A replacement for La Fata was never named, but just two weeks ago, Combs told WWD that the internal design team was hard at work on the line.
