The real issue is that we aren't the NIC so why even bring that up? I believe you have already read OUR criteria, so what's your point?
Are you petitioning for APO to be accepted in the NPHC, or something? Geesh.

Your tangent is humorous because you are only a member of APO and are a self-professed anti-elitist who has an issue with "NPHC power." That's what it means.

The point is if an org is good enough to join NIC, what makes NPHC so special that an org wants to jump through hoops and join NPHC? If the NIC is a good council to affiliate with, what makes NPHC a great one, or is that merely a perceived "illusion of inclusion"?

National Bylaws prohibit APO from affiliating with any interfraternity councils unless local campus policies require such affiliation in order to keep their charter.

We are special because we are. If our being special and DIFFERENT than NIC hurts your feelings, that's just too bad.
I was joking about APO. I know that you all don't meet our stringent criteria.

Hmm...the only people who would know the answer to that are the individuals who created the criteria for membership. You seem really bothered by it so I suggest you contact NPHC officials for clarity. We could go in circles for days about this.

Is Kappa Alpha Psi still a member of the NIC? And wasn't there an undergraduate chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha that left the NPHC and affiliated with the IFC on their campus?
I don't recall what the requirements are for a fraternity to join the NIC or for a sorority to join the NPC, but as long as there is a historical precedent, I don't think we can completely discount the possibility that a predominately African American and/or multicultural GLO will join one of those other councils.

Both Kappa Alpha Psi and Iota Phi Theta are members of IFC.
I knew of a Latina sorority that was active in a local NPC chapter.

You already admitted you had some other issues with the NPHC. So, your opinion is a bit misguided. Do what you like and good luck.
