Now that is smart rushing/advertising.

Sigma Chi did the same here too and dropped them off to the sorority houses. I don't live in the house so I didn't get one.

i got this shirt while visiting another chapter of my fraternity. it says "if you're going to pay for friends, you might as well pay for the cool ones, Rush DU" and it has a retro pic of a guy counting money. its absolutely hilarious.

I never really thought about the color scheme thing. I'm a Kappa so we're light blue/dark blue, but our bid day shirts were like, yellow/orange. I know another sorority had light blue shirts, but I don't remember who. The only problem we had was that another sorority had the same design as us (it was beach) and it was the exact same shirt, except theirs were a different color.

The best two we've had was our Greek Week shirts from 2005, we didn't participate because it became too competitive so we got shirts that had letters on the front with Greek Week 2005. The back said "Nothin' to Prove" with a ruler that went from 7"-12"
the other one that I'm proud of is our "T"s in the circle and triangle with "Don't Die Wondering" along the Triangle on the Front and "Some Men Are Born Brothers... Others Earn It!" "Rush Phi Sigma Kappa" on the back

Bid Day shirts 2006: "If you're going to go greek, why not be a goddess?"
Bid Day shirts 2007: "Pretty in pink, perfEKt in pearls"
Bid Day shirts 2008: "Its not easy being a princess, but now I'm one step closer"
and i know the lambda chis at our school had some shirts that said, "Men join fraternities, Leaders of men join Lambda Chi Alpha"
And the Kappa Sigs had one that was like, "Who knew you were a Kappa Sig legacy" with like a picture of a woman and a kappa sig and a stork on there. its was funny

It's the Greek Week shirts you have to watch for. But since everyone is either helping each other out for a cause or at each others throats, the competitive snarky shirts are sort of the norm.
One I do remember from a while ago was from a group that had won the title almost every year for almost 10 years. Their shirt said "So the world really does revolve around us." And it had their letters in the middle with all their title years in little globes floating around them.
The ironic thing was that they didn't win the title that year.
So the winning group made shirts that said "XYZ, A New Tradition."
|
That's kind of funny. One of the sororities on my campus had won Greek Week 4 years in a row. Well, since we're from PA, and a few years ago the Steelers were getting their 5th Superbowl ring, or as everyone would say, "One for the thumb", last year, this sorority made Greek Week shirts that said just that.
They lost Greek Week.

The ZBTs on my campus, since they're a historically Jewish fraternity, always had the best play on words T's.
My favorite was the Yuengling symbol on the front, something about original brother hood, and then on the back it said: "JEWISH YOU WERE US!"
One of my friends wore his in NYC when he went to support a friend during gay pride week. He was stopped by an old rabbi, who thought the shirt was the funniest thing he'd seen all day.
