We just had EMHE come to Clarksville for a soldier that lost his leg in Iraq. They demolished their existing home (around 1500 sq.ft.) to rebuild a 3000 sq.ft. home that has doorways wide enough for him to get through easier. They paid the mortgage on the old home. The new one is free. They put in a 700 gallon fish tank, sent the soldier to get a new artificial leg and to learn how to use it, and gave them massive tvs and a hot tub.
All that was to say that I know how they do the notification process. They notify a group of finalist families. They have a rep from EMHE stay overnight with them. They are told that they will find out if they have won or not by either getting a phone call with the bad news or by having Ty show up at the house. So, they have an idea.
BTW, Ty is an ass. All he talked about while he was out on the town here was getting high and getting it on with as many ladies as possible. (My friend works at a bar here that he went to frequently.)

i like the orginal crew: ty , paul, preston, michael, constance and tracy....i like paige too, but all those other guys they rotate in they annoy me.

I love that show. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Desperate Housewives back to back: doesn't get better than this. I cannot wait to get my hands on the DVD.

My parent's subscribe to the tv guide so I read it while I was at home this weekend for fall break. I def like it being more like a real magazine now.
Anyway... tonight's episode was AWESOME! I sersiously cried off and on for the whole 2hrs. This show just kicks butt.
And at the end, I was like- how can they top it, and yet next week's (well 2weeks from now) previews look just as amazing. Such good quality tv!

No one's posted in here for a while, but my grandma's neighborhood is in a state of EMHE chaos!
Not only did Ty and the crew build the Akana Family a 3,500 sq. ft home -- they built a 3,500 sq. ft. Community Center on the same property to help those benefitting from the family's non-profit organization. I think they said that this was the biggest project they've ever accomplished.
The whole community pitched in, including Dr. Andy (The Bachelor) and my very own stepdad. My stepdad and a few of his construction buddies helped out over the weekend on their day off.
As I type this, the family's probably touring their new house now.
I believe this episode airs in September for the show's 2-hour Season Premiere. I can't wait to see if my stepdad and his friends are on TV!

Did anyone catch the premiere tonight?
I caught a glimpse of my stepdad as he and his buddies helped do the framing on Day 4. It was also neat seeing familiar faces before the demolition and at the Sea Life Park luau.
Momi is one classy lady and despite all the BS going on with the house and the Attorney General's office, I still think that her family's very deserving. My stepdad had the biggest smile on for 2 hours tonight, and he kept saying that he was so proud to have been a part of this project.

I don't watch the show, save the last 10 minutes to see the reveal and it was gorgeous!!
And they so should've showed Bachelor Andy, just to get more people to watch. And yay for your stepdad. That'd be such a neat thing to be a part of!

Don't know the reasons why Andy's segment ended up on the cutting room floor...but maybe it's because he and Tessa finally broke up (not just the engagement, the relationship's done -- PAU, as we locals call it) and ABC didn't want to put the spotlight on yet another Bachelor relationship gone bad?

Such a great episode. Momi seemed like a great very deserving person & her family was great too. Her husband was so proud to be a father to all their kids! Such a beautiful house & community center.

A house near here (Kirkland, WA) is being redone this week for Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
