Congrats! It takes even more willpower at this time of the year because there isn't the motivation of summer coming at you.

You have to do it for yourself! So go youuuuuu!

It's not that serious yet, Sharon! Give me about another two weeks...maybe you'll see the shrinkage then!

Atkins

You all I have fell off the bandwagon. I have resorted to a week of eating chocolate chips and milk and all other ill-ridden foods that goes against ATKINS. I plan to restart on Sunday. I am going to be stronger and resist the temptation of food that I am not supposed to eat.

So how much has everyone lost. I lost thirty pounds in about 3-6 weeks. I've gained five pounds due to the binging.

I'm almost through with the two-week induction period, and I have a 5-1/2 lb loss to show for my efforts! Plus, my clothes are a little looser. I know most of it's water weight, but I'll take what I can get!

CJUS, just pick yourself up and get back on the wagon - you'll be fine.

How's everyone else doing?

You all are doing GREAT! CJUS, I understand because today I went to a conference and my girlfriend made my plate because I was holding a baby, and she brought back SMOTHERED CHICKEN, PASTA, and A ROLL!! Now y'all know I didn't resist that food right?! It was sooooooo good! But I must say, that I did well all week except for today. I plan on getting back strict on Monday. Is it bad if you do it for five days and weekends are free? I'm not talking about going crazy, but just being more flexible. Lovelyivy, you usually have the answers, help a sista out!

KEEP THE UPDATES FLOWING!

I hate to tell you this but... yes, it is bad. The Atkins diet works because you're eating very few carbs, so your body goes into ketosis - it burns the carbs you do eat, then starts in on your body fat. It takes about two days to get into ketosis. If you go off plan on the weekends, you'll knock yourself out of ketosis and sabotage your efforts.

If you really miss breads and pasta, there are low-carb alternatives available. There's even low-carb ice cream - my local supermarket just started stocking it Try some of that as your weekend "treat".

She's right. Sorry!

If you want to do Atkins, ya gotta get into ketosis and stay there. It's a rough road! Good luck!

I am on track. I started the diet back today. I think I am serious because I have resisted mac/cheese, birthday cake, and peach cobbler here at the office today. I stuck with the baked chicken and ate a salad. I am also drinking my water.

Atkins sells alternative products (go to the website) for bread and other things. They taste great. I am starting today on my first day of induction. I am at 207 lbs today. (I gained 7 lbs) *note 10-14-03*

Everyone wish me luck!!!!

Unhappy

Okay, my bingeing and complete disregard for any kind of healthy eating regimen for the last month have caught up with me. I have gained back almost 10 pounds. I cannot believe that what I've worked so hard for was undone just like that. They really snuck back up on me. I was doing sooooo good. I guess I need to go see James and also do a complete kitchen makeover. Between P-Diddy being here and two trips to the fair I was a bad, bad, BAD girl...and now I can tell.

How is everyone else doing?
