Yankees in TARA!!! ::swoon::
Ok you want to know where is "Southern" and where is "not"? Quite simple. If you go to any "home cooking" restaurant and macaroni and cheese is listed on the menu as a vegetable, then you're in the south.
I love being southern. Sure we have our problems and our somewhat checkered past, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!!

I suppose I shouldn't comment with the fact that my HS had this as a homecoming olympics activity, then

You are from the farm part of Wisconsin, obviously.
I can truthfully say I have never milked a cow or gone cow tipping.

does anyone else think those girls in those pictures look like Peeps? tee hee
Only true southerners not only know what a debutant is but have been training to be one since they could walk (ie: coming out parties)
ok you are southern when your grandmother served everything in its own little dish on the table - including the salt and pepper....its not food if it doesn't have its own dish!
oh and there is only one form of Iced Tea in the south - SWEET!
oh sweet home Alabama, where the skies are so blue *sigh*
dammit now I'm so very homesick

I love the South. Some of my fondest memories are my St. Patrick Day Trips to Savannah, a Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, trips to Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Hilton Head, Knoxville, and eventhough traffic is a bitch, lets not forget the fun in Atlanta. I've always lived in the South, while I find northern cities cool to visit, I'll never live anywhere but the South. I'm even making plans for a move further south to the Charleston, SC area because I love it so much.
Forever Southern,

The best thing about being from the South is being called a Southern Gentleman. Well, not on GreekChat, but in real life.

I'm not from the south but I've loved the places that I visited. New Orleans is great, Savannah is great and I really like norhtern Florida. I want to move to New Orleans.

question about the south...
Is texas considered part of "the south"??? I have heard conflicting answers, so I want to know if it is or not. For example, does someone from georgia or alabama consider texas as part of "the south"?

Texas is like it's own region. There's the East Coast, the South, the Midwest, the Great Plains, the Mountain States, the Southwest, and the West Coast . . . and then there's Texas.
