The thing is, thats fine. We don't really care about your opinions of the South, or southern chapters. We simply prefer the people. The fact that the South has some of the best and largest greek systems is something we appreciate and are proud of.

Mm, that is a very interesting concept even though it is narrow minded as it were.

So when and if You get into the real world if You graduate, what are you going to do, become a cotton grower? OH, maybe a peanut farmer?

I just cannot beleive some of your inane and small world posts.

You act as though we completely isolate ourselves from the "real world." Just because I choose to hang out with a certain group or type of people does not mean we're not prepared to be around others. Believe it or not, we're aren't sheltered. I spent last summer in D.C., and while people were different from me, much of them posessed the professionalism you might see in southern greek systems. I've graduated college and am now going to law school. Just because we prefer the company of people of similar background doesn't mean we're some sort of backwoods people. I think you'll find that most southern greeks are well educated, well cultured and well traveled. Thus, it makes us all the more capable of choosing who we choose to associate with.

I doubt that people are so back woods as You might profess.

I would like to know what makes you more upset: The fact that my father will get me a job in a top law firm (since he's an equity partner) and I will make over 150K my first year of a real job, or the fact that I do not even need said job since my trust fund has enough money in it to last me the rest of my life.

Just because we choose to associate with people that we have things incommon with, we are narrow minded? I don't really the logic in that. If I'm out a social event or what not, and start to talk to a guy who likes popular music and is more into video games than hunting or fishing, then I'll be civil and talk to him for a while, but that's not some one who I'd want to be around for extended periods of time because......we have nothing in common. Let's be honest, if you have nothing in common with someone, they really don't interest you all that much. Why would I befriend a person who doesn't like country music, thinks hunting in "cruel", doesn't care for SEC football, and doesn't care for most other things I like? It doesn't make sense, whenever we were together what would do? probably stare at a wall. or get into some kind of arguement which would result in someone getting whooped. If we have conflicting interests, I'll be kindly to you, but don't expect me to want to be around you. I'd rather sit on my front porch, in my white rocker, drink my sweet tea, eat my collards, stewed corn, and fried chicken, and talk about UGA football.

I think it's funny that you see it as "Southern superiority", the truth of it is that we simply are quite discriminating on who we believe to be friends. I will simply not accept a "friend", who couldn't act properly in front of adults or swore profusely in public (somewhat redundant). I choose friends who will and do act like professionals in every situation, even when we are partying. I will not accept a friend who wears jean shorts, trucker hats, and Abercrombie shirts because he will not go anywhere! It is simple to buy regular non-cargo shorts, a cheap but efficient hat, and polos. It does not require money.

That's acceptable, it's a lonely convention if I'm not with the UGA, Bama, Auburn, Tx Tech, and Ole Miss brothers there, because they feel the exact same way. I can't even consider being brothers with "New Jersey Tech" (probably not even a real college, but wouldn't be suprised). It seems that the majority of the board is content with having mediocre connections, irreverent brothers and absolutely disgusting manners which some Sig Ep cotillion teacher finally had to teach them (saw it on the news, felt sorry for them that they graduated high school with no manners).

Don't you find it "funny" that these guys who are so proud to be "fratty" don't post their GLO affiliations? I mean, you have mentioned your sorority and chapter (I have, too). I have my fraternity's nickname as part of my GC id (as does DeltAlum). We know Tom is very proud of being a Lambda Chi (it's in his signature). But, none of these guys who are proud to be "fratty" have their affiliations in their names, signatures, or profiles. Could they be (voice drops to a whisper) trolls?

What do you thinks?
