It means more to speak of a famous alumni from your chapter because they went through everything you did as close as it comes.

Look at Psi U at Dartmouth, not a huge internationally recognized frat, but the alumni from that chapter are quite impressive. Even with some local chapters it's a similar case.
This is a far more understandable post than demanding that this thread should only be about famous alumni from your specific chapter.

To you it means more. You are welcome to that opinion, but it is just that -- your opinion. My opinion, frankly, is that your opinion on this is rather silly. Quite a lot can change in a chapter in just a few years, so I don't know why anyone would assume that famous alumni from your chapter "went through everything you did as close as it comes." Maybe they did, maybe they didn't.

The original question that started this thread was "Ok, who do you think is the coolest cat to ever grace the halls of your fraternity or sorority?" Since most people who have responded have limited themselves to a handful of alumni/alumnae they are particularly proud or pleased to call brother or sister, I don't think that this thread, unlike some list-your-famous-alumni threads, has turned into "a 'how big is your fraternity' contest."
