I don't know if this is good or bad, but I'M NOT SICK. I just finally read the list of side effects from the new medication that I started awhile ago and, lo and behold, there it is: "runny nose, sore throat, flu symptoms." I don't know whether to be excited that I'm not really sick or pissed that I didn't read that sooner.

Make sure you're getting plenty of sleep... skimping on that always seems like the shortest route to Sickville.
And lots of water! And wash your hands more than usual!
Sorry, didn't mean to go all Big Sis on you. But take care of yourself. That's what I meant to say.

I'm finally going to go to the doctor tomorrow. This has just gotten out of hand, I've had this stupid post nasal drip cough since THANKSGIVING, and for the third time in less than 3 weeks I've been throwing up with a migraine. Something's gotta give.

The lymph node in my left armpit has been sore and swollen since Friday (I thought my under wire was jabbing me), so I guess I better go to the doctor since it still hurts and it a knot.

My doctor put me on antibiotics, this is the fourth time in a year this has happened, she's going through all my tests and exams from two years ago since it only happens on the left side, and that's where they found the lump I'd much rather have explosive diarrhea than go through this again.

Ugh... So I thought I was getting sick last week but then it went away. Well now it's most definitely back. Headache, post nasal drip, sore throat and a little bit of stuffyness.

My son was sick last week and this week it's my daughter. My ex-husband is sick too. I'm just waiting for it to hit me. My only hope is that, since I'm the only one who got a flu shot, I'll be spared.

I had to call in sick (which I never do) yesterday and today and I still feel completely awful. Sore throat, fever, dizzy, exhausted...the works. I'm being so whiney about it, too. I just hate being sick.

I had a fever this morning, and chills. I got a couple looks from my classmates because my face was bright red but my teeth were chattering. I felt fine when I left the house at 7:30, I guess the Advil wore off.
I have no adenoids or tonsils, how can i possibly have a sore throat? What is left in there to get sore?

I'm sick too. My head is so congested it just keeps draining and draining without warning. I ended up just shoving tissue up my nose to keep it from draining so I could sleep. It's so gross. I called in sick the last two days and don't see feeling well enough to go in tomorrow either. This thing is going around. Both my kids had it, my ex-husband had it, several co-workers have been out with it (and even more have come in sick, making more of us sick..one of my big peeves). Yeah, after I fixed someone's computer last week and was waiting for it to reboot, resting my chin on my hand, she says "You'll want to wash your hands after touching my keyboard since I've had this awful cough for days now". Thanks. I *must* stop touching my face when in other people's offices. It had been a good two weeks since my kids exposed me, so I don't think I actually got it from them.
Your actual throat, the tissue lining the esophagus, can be sore, even without tonsils or adenoids, usually from the drainage.

Wishing both of you ladies well...I hope you start feeling better soon!
AGDee, I really hate when people come to work sick and spread their germs around. I would so much rather they take a day (or two, or three) to rest and start feeling better rather than exposing other people to their germs. Plus, I feel like people who come to work super sick aren't even all that productive anyway.

Me too! It's a side effect of us having a combined sick and vacation bank. If you never call in sick, you get more planned vacation time. If you call in sick a lot, you get less vacation time. It's designed to reduce call ins for pre-planned things like dentist appointments. Also, since I work for a health care system, it's a hardship for them when they have call-ins in the patient care field since those people have to be replaced. But, I definitely have co-workers who refuse to "waste" their time off on being sick. They are NOT productive at all and they may as well not be there. I sometimes wish management would send them home.
