Heh. WTF are rainbows and croakies? I don't use the word "gay" as an adjective, but it seems appropriate here.

Rainbows are flip-flops and they are quite comfortable. I don't want to talk about Croakies because I think they are very silly but I know other people love them.

Rainbows or Reefs, are hella comfortable. They're sandals and they last forever. Croakies are the strips of rubber? I don't know what material, that hold your sunglasses on. They're a type of strap so you don't lose them when your fishing or when you need to take them off. The fact that you don't know what rainbows and croakies are makes them that much cooler.

As for what I normally wear, either a fraternity party shirt or a polo, khaki shorts or pants depending on the whether, a belt, and usually reefs or my birkenstock moc sandals.

Our Sr. Project Manager here at my company wears them all the time. It's like his staple.

So they're like pocket protectors for sunglasses. Hot.

Croakies started out as serving a practical purpose for deep-sea fishing and other activities where you need sunglasses but would prefer they not fall into the ocean as you pull in a 100-pound sailfish, or whatever.

Usually Croakies are attached to a paid of Costa Del Mars, Maui Jims, maybe Oakleys.

And Rainbows I thought were popular nearly everywhere? They're out of SoCal but are very popular here in Florida, throughout the South and the West Coast.

Why am I giving a lesson on Southern frat wear? I'm a girl, I shouldn't have to do this.

I think they are worse. At least a pocket protector serves a purpose - you can't put your pen behind your ear, or you'll write on your face, and it could ruin your shirt. Nothing bad happens when you put your sunglasses on your head.

Sandals on men = ick. Who wants to see ugly hairy man feet? Gross!

Sunglass holders. Sexy. For a 60 year old grandpa on the beach, maybe.

I love you Kath, but I have to disagree. I think it's ridiculous when girls wear Croakies, but for guys who are outdoors a lot, they serve a practical purpose. Brian just got a pair of Costas, and it's like, if a guy is going to spend that much on a pair of sunglasses, he better not lose them. Usually I see guys wearing them around their neck when they're not wearing the glasses? I think? I don't know, my Tuscaloosa memories are getting fuzzy.

Yeah all those guys that are wearing flip flops and sandals should listen to this girl. She knows what she's talking about.

I don't mind when they are outside doing crap - guys wear them fishing and stuff, that's fine. I think they are stupid when you wear them on campus.

I feel the same way about turtlenecks on men. Skiing yes, at the bar no.

Someone should sell you. There's quite a market for used socks on ebay.

Eh, I think it's OK on campus. Maybe not at work/internship. What really pisses me off is guys who are really not outdoorsy at all wearing them. It's like, they need to serve a purpose at least. Don't wear them just because everyone else is.

Guys need to harness their sunglasses so they don't lose them? Do they also wear those mittens that are connected to each other with a string? Do they wear those wallets with chains?

ETA: The next new hot fashion trend for guys in the south: safety goggles!!
