pinkies - i live in memphis and i know that you live in a state with the best school holiday. Robert E. Lee's birthday, and before all yall call me racist, bigot, or something else. Robert E. Lee didnt fight for the south because of slavery, he fought for the confederacy because of his great pride in his home state.

look at the history of affirmative action and what it's done for white women.
affirmative action was designed to help women and minorities

uhh, a study in 2004 doesn't erase the precedent of the past 40 plus years. quit shooting from the hip and use some sound logic and grammar.

shooting from the hip ok well here it goes.
do you think that AA is something that yall sould be proud of and that you tout around like it is helping liberate people. it doesnt aa catches more flack because it hasnt accomplished what it set out to do. It creates racial discrimination that demeans certain groups of minorities because it shows that they can not and do not emphasize education. Also, AA just makes colleges and universities set quotas and standards for the number of minority students they accept and actually it can breed more racism in some cases. I mean do you think that places where the best and brightest people are suspossed to be educated should accept a person who might not have the best scores but had the skin tone of a race they need to make their university more diverse. Colleges in the united states should accept people based on the basis of their gpa and test scores and not give one rats a$$ about what color their skin should be.

Affirmative Action is not a just program, nor does it fulfill its original intention.

so without it, there's a very strong chance you would still be a barefoot, pregnant, uneducated example of trailer trash.
(i left out ignorant because the jury is still out on that)

Nice of you to make judgements, don't know if I can ever be pregnant considering I am a guy. In case you meant my mother, she never had that problem. Who are you to be calling others "trash" anyway?

well, your posts reek of femininity so you might want to fix that.
i didn't call anyone trash, but if it applies...remain offended.

shut up, and quit shooting from the hip, twit.
you're looking at affirmative action from a white person's standpoint. but i guess it makes sense, because you (much like many of the other posters on this site) do only see things from your point of view and not anyone else's. close-minded and quite ignorant.

I am speaking of the public schools,- how after Brown vs. Board of Education inner city schools and some suburban ones are still segregated and therefore are not receiving the monies allocated to suburban schools. Face it we know that racism and inequality is still alive even in our public school systems. You need to read carefully, no one is even suggesting that anyone forcefully integrate your community.

You know why many places have better school systems? Because there is more money in the community. Local taxes have helped many school systems. Inner city schools don't attract the best teachers, often because they don't wanna be in that environment. Pumping money into inner city schools is not necc going to make for better schools. It just means that kids there have better teachers to deride and more expensive things to destroy. Fixing inner city schools will never work until parenting becomes a priority in this country. Great teachers can turn kids around, but that won't happen on a wide scale. It has to start at home.
