The point of the switch was supposed to learn things from one another and her point was lost because she was so out of control the whole time. She didn't explain why she didn't believe this and that and why her faith is against this and that.

And how are you gonna tell somebody to get the hell out of your house in the name of Jesus?!?! Christ ain't had nothin to do with that!

THEY'RE NOT CHRISTIAAAAAAAN!!!
This is hilarious. That lady was crazy. I had to turn her off.

Ditto. That was just a strange couple all around.

I was watching it like, who ever heard of Black atheists? But obviously there are some out there. However, I was INCREDIBLY offended when she asked the Christian family to wear those T-Shirts. I mean, they did not ask her to wear any religious paraphenalia.

I thought it was interesting to see the African-american family that were athiests. They were definitely an interesting couple.

The thing that makes me upset is the fact that these families sign up for these shows and then when it comes time to change the rules they don't want to obey them. Whether or not you agree with what the other family believes in, I think the participants need to be more open and willing to follow the other rules. I think it is pointless for them to do the show if they aren't gonna agree to the rule change.

While the t-shirt thing was a little hard for me to swallow, this is a good point. If there's something I know I wouldn't be comfortable doing, I wouldn't even go on the show. I mean, you know your household and what you believe strongly in, so there's a pretty good chance you'll be swapped with someone unlike you. It's not like you have to do what the other wife says forever, and you know in your heart it's not what you believe, so why not just do it for the sake of the show you volunteered to go on?

I don't know about the t-shirt one, though, LOL.

LOL yeah that T-shirt thing was a little weird cause didn't she want him to wear it everyday or something.

I think the families need to also be considerate when asking the other families to do things, also. Cause I think that lady wanted him to wear it all the time. I did like that she wanted him to talk to his children without referring to God. He should have tried harder to do this.

I think there is a difference between being open to debate and being asked to completely abandon your core beliefs.

Having a discussion on evolution with the kids - go for it - they have to learn it in school anyway.

Being told to wear a shirt with God crossed out - nah...never.

What got me was how much of a punk the husband (of the athiest family was)! You don't want to believe in God that's your business but be able to back up why - don't break down when the swap wife questions the way you run your house. It made NO sense that the oldest child was basically running the house while the lazy arse wife played video games...and you think you are doing nothing wrong & bust into tears when told to man up? I felt so bad for that boy - I hope now that the show aired she is shamed to get off her behind and act like the adult she is suppossed to be.

Did the eldest (athiest) son attend school?

Do any of you know of any Af Ams who are athiest?

I thought the black wife was lazy and selfish. She sends her kids to day care to play sims on her pc all day and then make her son do all the chores. That just makes no sense. I know many women who dont have to work would spend time with their children at home instead of sending them to day care. I understand that it's good for kids to be around other children. But why pay someone to watch your kids when you have more than enough time to take care of them yourself.

That poor boy did everything and all the mother did was play sims? give me a break. duly disapointed in them and she should have been embarrassed that she contributed little to nothing to their family and the christian wife contributed so much.

The dad did not ask Lady atheist to wear any thing religious, but he did ask her to go to church and the Christian Mom asked the Atheist dad to wear a hat that said Jesus Saves and he did. I think the difference though is who does an atheist offend if he/she does something "religious"---nobody, because according to them, there is nobody else out there. A Christian, on the other hand, offends a Holy God and that is serious.

I could see her point though, although I think it would have been better to go do some atheist meeting or listen to her husband radio show or something. I think I would have done that, but wear a shirt with God crossed out. Naw patnah....Imma pass on that one!

^^^^ I think she said something about walking around in public with the shirt on to see what it feels like to be discriminated against for being atheist. But she was just whack all around cuz she never explained it in a way were he could see the purpose. Wearing a tshirt that says I love jesus doesn't make you christian just like wearing a shirt with gods name crossed out make you a sinner....in my opinion i.e....it's not like the shirt is changing who you are as a person and what you believe.

what yall think?

So was I wrong for laughing at the atheist hubby's temper tantrum?

He kicked the stuffed puppy across the floor and audibly sobbed off camera. That puppy did nothing to him. I usually don't find it funny when a man shows his true emotions, but he was being a big ol' punk. Why should he care if a woman thinks he won't be successful because he doesn't believe in God? Where's the baby powder so we can straighten him out?
