Everybody, take a deep breath, step back. There you go. Now breath out and think happy thought. Done? Very good, proceed with the civil discussion please.

I have read all the posts and actually, I thought the entire thread
was very civil when compared with many in the past.

This is just one of those topics that carry a lot of emotion. Most of us know someone who has/is fighting in Iraq so we have a lot to say about it.

OBL may never be found. If anyone wants to hang their hat on that issue, go right ahead, but most people SHOULD realize he is an entirely different kind of enemy. His followers-specifically the ones who know his location- believe in his message.
Saddam's closest followers believed in the money.

And yes, the Dems platform was being scripted around the economy and Iraq. THAT's politics. They just backed the wrong horse. Americans can have short memories. So nothing that is happening at this moment will insure success for any party in the next election. What WILL determine the outcome is the "state of the nation" when the polls open.

DeltAlum- I'm with you. The older I get, the more grey I see!
(on so MANY levels!)
ps-grey is an acceptable alternative spelling!

Precisely. I would simply take the word "can" out of the first sentence. And I always waver about using gray or grey.

Really good post.

I have flown much higher, but I'll remember the hint.
