I am not certain how LB had hers done.
There are a few companies that sell rings you can pin your badge on. Here's what I found online:
http://www.connectsports.com/pinon.htm (Yellow Gold $125)
http://www.alphagold.com (not listed on webpage but you can order a catalogue and I know it's in there).

I have my two-tone badge on a pendant and I got a long chain at Costco (yes, it was very inexpensive and still good quality). It's long enough that I don't have to deal with the clasp and it just slips over my head. I wear it at least a few times a week and I have it on right now in fact. It even goes with the two tone GPhiB bracelet I have.
My original badge is saved for convention, Founders Day and other special events.

I found a pin made into a ring on ebay, but like a dummy, didn't ask the size. Now, I may spend more on having it sized than I paid for the ring! But it is a gorgeous ring - yellow gold, pearls with ruby points.
As for how often to wear your glo jewelry, I noticed an "odd" pin at a Panhellenic luncheon. It was a somewhat plain Alpha Phi pin, with a guard. But, the sister wearing it had her dangles each linked to a separate link of the guard, so you saw
the pin - dangle-dangle-dangle-dangle-dangle-dangle-dangle-guard
Actually, she had more dangles. It was just having them strung out, instead of all slumping down in the middle looked so chic! When I commented on it, she said that she wore it to work at least once a week, and most people didn't even recognize it as a sorority badge, so much as a beautiful & original piece of jewelry! One of these days, I just may try it myself!

circle pendant for badge
I just got my pendant for attaching my badge to so I can wear it as a necklace. Does anyone else have one of these? Can you tell me if your badge sits tightly inside it or does it move around a lot? Mine seems to just pin through the hole at the top and clasp shut using the pin's own closing mechanism, but does not seem to attach tightly to the "tongue" of the pendant that supports the back of the pin. Does this make sense (I hope so)? When hanging straight down, the pin and circle pendant hang correctly, but if you move it or it swings, the pin goes all crooked.

I recieved this badge for Christmas this past year and I love it! I'm still an active but I love pearls and this one makes me think of one of the ceremonies we do that tells the meaning of the 8 pearls of Pi Beta Phi each time I wear it! I want to get the aquamarine badge because it's my birthstone but that will be a while off!
What's funny is the badge I have as an officer (Recording Secretary) is plainer than the "upgraded" badge my mom got me!

I lost my plain pin (ordered when I was broke), and now I bid whenever I see one on e-bay. But I am always outbid $1 by people with sniper programs (collectors or resellers, I assume). But no urgency, since I have few if any opportunities to wear it.
But I have a great silver charm bracelet that I wear pretty often, and ordered a silver lavalier and generic ladybug charm that I attached to the same link. A nice inexpensive way to wear the letters as an alum.
Haven't figured, however, any way to wear the cheapo goldtone Pheonix Pin (sort of a sister-of-the-month award) that I love dearly. http://www.burrpatt.com/alphasigmaalpha/ASAPins.asp

I pin all my award pins etc on the lapel of the blazer I usually wear to Gamma Phi and Panhel functions -- they stay on my linen blazer in the summer and my wool blend blazer in the winter...it's starting to look like the back of a Texas Cowboys hat hehe

Mine hung a bit loose. Now, the BIG problem (not sure if yours will do this) the badge came off one day and I lost it. I've now learned to pay closer attentionto it and I'm going to try to find a way to more securely attach the new one I just bought for it.

First thing I did when I got a Badge was to buy a Guard, Chapter designation to keep from losing it. Badge did come undone but was hanging on my lapel by the Guard. Whew!
I keep the all opal Badge on my sprt coat lapel with a Guard that I ordered from Hdq. Do Not want to lose that sucker as have never seen another one like it!
My original of white gold with pearls in Lambda and Saphires also has a white gold guard with pearls.
I would S**T if I lost any of them!
I never had a basic plain Badge.

My original badge (pearl phi and pink sapphire gamma and beta) has a guard and I wouldn't wear it without one. The plain one I just got so I could wear it more often on a pendant (goes with most of my clothes).

I have an 'upgrade' now, thanks to our awesome Badge Task Force, chaired by SmartBlondeGPhB. It's from 1948 from a chapter that is now closed, and has a pearled Phi. It's shaped a little differently than our current badge, and I am very excited to wear it - it's at the jeweler having two missing pearls replaced, and I'm ordering a pearled guard for it.

I think I will be getting one with a guard, then. I would be ticked if I lost it!

I don't see why you cannot wear it to work, provided that you are dressed up and looking your best.
That is just with Beta though
I dunno about other GLOs...feel free to enlighten
