Thanks for the welcome! I saw a picture of some of the Madison alumni in the last Crescent---I know most of the girls! I'd love to make it up for a Badger game this season, but I'm not sure if my schedule will allow it. In anycase, good luck with recruitment (please keep me posted about how it's going) and Go Badgers!

So I am totally new to all this...

Chapter: Gamma Eta, California State Long Beach

Pledge Class: Fall 2001, Gamma Eta

Status: Alumni

Offices Held: PACE Chair, Parlimentarian, Greek Week Chair 3 years in a row

Favorite Gamma Phi Memory: There are so many, I was in the house for 4 years and loved every minute ... but Greek Sing last semester is my favorite memory

I think this is a great way to communicate with other chapters and other Gamma Phis! Rush is coming up soon and it will be great to share ideas with all of you. (I might be alumn but I am still helping our house with rush!!!)

Love in IIKE,
Misha

Hi,

I just discovered this forum -- and also found out that our smart blonde moderator is my pledge-granddaughter! Lovely to meet you all, and I'd be especially delighted to hear from any Phi alums.

Jeffe

Chapter: Phi, Washington University in St. Louis
Initiated: January 1985
Status: Alumna
Collegiate Offices Held: Thurtene Chair, Ritual & Song Chair
Major: Biology and Religious Studies
Favorite Gamma Phi Beta Memory: Initiation Night -- we had an ice storm and the temperature dropped so much that when we left the Womens Building at 2 am (we didn't have houses, so initiations were held at midnight in the closed building), my pink carnation froze instantly. The petals were like pink shards of glass.

WELCOME!!!!!

And I'm SO glad that GreekChat put us back together.

But she did forget to say that she is a published author of a book that sounds very good.

It's true -- I didn't say much else about my life. If you'd like to check out my book, Wyoming Trucks, True Love and the Weather Channel, you can look at my website http://jeffekennedy.com or you can look the book up on Amazon. I'm also an environmental consultant for my day job, so I travel quite a bit. I'll be in Helena, Montana in November and Santa Fe in December. I might also be in Albany/Troy, New York in December or January. I'm thinking I might visit Syracuse while there, to see the mother ship. But if any of you are near my upcoming travel destinations, I'm always there a week and would be pleased to meet you!

I FINALLY got around to getting the book and it is very good! I'm only about 2/3rds through it but it's not long and is an easy read.

Hi Sisters!
Here is my info:
initiated into Kappa Chapter (University of Minnesota- Minneapolis) in 2002
alumna member as of Spring 2005
History major
leadership positions held include: favors chair, COR chair, assistant MVP, and Philanthropy chair
favorite gamma phi memory: too many, but I always got very excited for recruitment and getting new sisters!

By the way, who all is planning on going to Convention in Phoenix this summer? I am curious as to what the cost is for alumnae to attend. Does anyone know?

I have gone to the last 4. The costs are approx the following:

Hotel: has been about $100 per night
Airfare: not sure what it will cost for you to fly to Phoenix
Registration: Around $500-$600 for the full time registration (includes all sessions and meals)

This year there is an additional day for alumnae programming (Sunday) and what I saw was that it's in additional costs.

Chapter: Beta Pi, Indiana State University
Initiated: November 1997
Status: Alumna
Collegiate Offices Held: Recording Secretary, Parlimentarian, Sisterlink
Major: Criminology
Favorite Gamma Phi Beta Memory: My favorite memory is probably getting my second daughter. She's a little older then I am and was going to college for the first time. She was soooo excited when she found out I was her mom that she cried.
Random Fact: I was the first girl from my chapter to become an exchange student
