I heard that on Steve Harvey this morning, and I had to turn the show off early to go into work so I may have missed something. But what purpose will this serve? Surely they aren't appearing together, and as the article stated, this appearance will not exactly have a positive effect on their upcoming mediation.

Although, I'm not sure if the most disturbing thing is going to be her appearance on the show. . . or Gary Coleman's.

Juanita Bynum is an attention seeker. Period. She was supposed to be giving advice to help another couple and Judge Toler is going to interview her. IMO the judge should have put her under a gag order to not talk about anything related to the case, her husband or appear on any shows relating the matter. From the beginning I always though she was too much!

According to the snippet I heard from the new Judge (not sure of her name - I haven't watched since Mablean!), they are trying to get things worked out now before it gets to that point. The wife says he has anger issues, so I guess they are heading down that road.

With this lineup, I have to wonder if the "celebs" get paid on this show. And for that matter, the regular folk. It all seems to be for entertainment purposes only, or are the judgements made on TV judge shows usually enforceable (or whatever the word is)? Gary is a different story, but with all of Juanita's income I can't imagine what this would be for her besides another appearance.

Like I said in a previous thread, all it takes is one time for that short man to do something.

I think guest usually do get paid to be on those shows (I know talk shows for sure). I like Judge Lynn (the new judge) but I have heard the ratings have done down since Mablean was fired. Yeah, and I don't see how this will benefit Juanita AT ALL.

I saw bits and pieces of the show. Juanita was too extra.

Then she observed the case that was featured. The wife look scared to death while the husband was looking like this:

. And then he had the nerve to say he slapped her because she lied to him.

I won't see part two tomorrow but I do look forward to the GC commentary.

Juanita is broke and will exhaust any forms of media to get money..

But this by far took the cake, her response about suicide...
"Suicide crossed my mind ... You know, I felt hopeless," Bynum said. "I didn't because the name Bynum represents a legacy of people that have gone before me and had I done that I would have given too much power to an individual to not just wipe me out but to wipe out the integrity of the legacy I was born in."

Is that what kept you?!?!?!?!...Not God, Jesus, Salvation, Redemption, Peace, Spirit, Church, Prayer, Prayer Closet.......None of that???

Hmmm . . . this one is actually kind of a toughie. Those contemplating suicide and especially those seriously planning an attempt have to be all but devoid of peace, and any number of things can be a "trigger" to put things in perspective and halt the ideations. Imagining how hurt your friends/family would be, hearing an ice cream truck go by and remembering better times, stumbling upon a 10 year old eviction letter and interpreting it as a sign that "this too shall pass", etc. So, in that context anything is possible and I think those things probably happen quite a bit.

Now granted, this doesn't mean that her many television, radio and magazine interviews can't still be sensationalized excuses for publicity, pity and a paycheck - but I'm just a little iffy on the need to justify the suicide thing in general. Probably just that psych & service as a peer counselor from undergrad talking!
