But did they know that Coach would be on the jury? Usually, it seems like the jury starts with the merge, so that the jury has a chance to know everyone at least a little, not just their own tribe. I was bit surprised when Probst added ". . . and the first member of our jury." But if you're on to something here, at least Russell has learned something since last season, when he never seemed to give the jury a thought.
As for the Heroes and the all-girl alliance theory, that's an interesting thought. You might be right, although I can't help but think that it doesn't seem to mesh with Russell's general hubris. We'll see, I guess.

I had the same thought. Glad it wasn't only me. Is it possible they might not do a merge unless one of the tribes gets to like 2 people?

I went and watched the Tribal Council voting at CBS.com. Interesting. Here's what a few people had to say;
Danielle (voting for Coach) -- "I don't want to do this, but you told Russell that you were going to pull Russell with JT and Rupert. You said it for the last three days. I have no reason to trust you. Sorry."
Russell (voting for Courtney) -- "This is supposed to be a vote that I can throw off. I hope it works."
Parvati (voting for Coach) -- "What do they call the girl who slays the dragon slayer? I don't know. Why don't you go home, do some Tai Chi, think about it, get back to me on that one. Bye."
Jerri's comments sound like she's sure the vote is going to be for Countney ("I'm going to miss you . . . ").
Russell clearly was trying to avoid voting for Coach while still confident that Coach was on the way out.
But notice that Danielle voted for Coach not because he might be targerting Russell but because he might take Russell to a guy's alliance. She said she didn't trust Coach, but it also suggests lack of trust in Russell. And Parvati's awesome comments sound just a little like this was all really her doing. Makes me wonder if she and Danielle are playing Russell.
There's also an insider video of Parvati (pre-Tribal Council) giddy at the idea that Coach might be leaving because he "sleezes" her out so much.

Oh cool- I didn't know you could do that! Thanks for the recap. I got the feeling when Danielle & Russell were arguing that she didn't fully trust him... Maybe they'll get their act together and vote him off next. Wishful thinking, anyway.
I believe that for the past few seasons, especially those with a F3, they've had the first jury member come before the merge. In this case it may be 2 if they want to start the merge at 10... or maybe they'll wait just for fun.
I loved the "Drop... your.......... expectations" line. Even though I knew it was coming, the reaction was priceless.

If the merge comes soon (next week?), maybe we will see a girls' alliance. Another insider clip emphasizes that Candice feels about like there's a gender divide at Heroes camp. She and Amanda certainly don't trust JT. Currently there are four men and six women in all. Might not be a bad move for Parvati, Danielle, Sandra and Courtney to join up with Amanda and Candice.
As for JT giving Russell the imunity idol, I'm going to guess (hope!) that he just floats that idea but it goes nowhere.

I found it funny how they previewed it, showing all the stupid things that had happened in the past.

Priceless, wasn't it? But something tells me that if he was actually going to do it, they wouldn't have played it up as much in the preview.

Yeah I was thinking the same. They did the same thing with Boston Rob getting sick. They made it look like he would be leaving. They are good at misleading with the previews.

I'm kind of hoping they wait to merge until the tribes are 5 and 5. That would be AFTER next week's Tribal.
They always have 9 on the jury whether there is a final 2 or a final 3. It looks like this will be a final 3. I always thought it odd to have a number of jurors that was evenly divisible by the number of finalists. I would think they want to eliminate any possibility of a tie. This isn't how they seem to do it though.

Isn't Skeletor Courtney? I do love Russell as Napoleon.

Yes it is Courtney. And Napoleon was perfect for Russell.
