Yay! I love ketchup, too! I love how much they talked about including Zetas alumnae in the future of your chapter.

Now, see, that is what I'm talking about! If I was you, I would fight hand, tooth, and nail for Ketchup. Just sayin'.

There have been plans in the works for a while now to tear down the old Roselawn Houses and Margaret Morrison Apartments in order to build a sorority quad with five 32-bed houses. However, they are waiting for one piece of land/house along the main road to go up for sale so they can snatch it up and start the building.

Thanks for the memories.
When I went to CMU (73-77) the DG house was the DU house, and most of my sisters were at least as familiar with that house as they were with our suite in Morewood Gardens (6D).
My best friend was a ChiO (she resigned her junior year), but they left campus.

6th floor of Morewood Gardens was great, especially those corner rooms with the vaulted ceilings.

Did anyone really not pick Ketchup after the experience you described? I'm sure no one could have gone with Mustard. Really.
I really did love Ketchup's vision of making sure Zeta alumnae were involved.

I thought you guys liked Mayo pretty well, especially after seeing members of a local that they had absorbed, so I was surprised to hear that you viewed Ketchup as your "last hope" after Mustard's flop. I think it's obvious who Zeta picks, but I'd like to hear how you went about voting.

That's exactly what I wanted to ask, but I didn't want to possibly be out of line for asking for those details. Can't wait to hear it!

I think some people thought that Mayo was not what we needed at that time because the chapter kept a lot of things--for example, they still displayed their local letters on the wall and had some other old things from the local. We liked them, but we weren't in love, and I think a lot of people were expecting to feel in love when we found the right group for us.

That Sunday, at our chapter meeting, we would be voting on which organization would be chosen to colonize. Our alumna advisor was there too with feedback that she had received from our alumnae. We hoped to narrow our selection down to three or even two, and then go from there. We used the projector that was in our house from all of the presentations so that we could display a Powerpoint presentation of the pros and cons that sisters had submitted for each group and to see the statistical analysis of the rankings--how many people ranked each organization as their number one, how many people ranked each organization as their last choice, the average ranking for an organization, the standard deviation of the rankings, and any other sort of statistical information you could think of. We're Carnegie Mellon girls, we don't mess around.
After the first ranking, Ketchup had the most number one votes, followed by Mayo, with Mustard and then Relish pretty far behind. We decided based on our analysis that we could pretty much rule out Relish and Mustard as possibilities.
We weighed the pros and cons of Ketchup and Mayo. We debated for quite some time, but I don't remember quite how long. I think with normal business and the voting, the meeting was well over two hours long.
In the end, we confidently chose and agreed upon Ketchup, better known as (from my signature, obviously) Alpha Chi Omega!

See, I knew it had to be good. I'm glad that your chapter found a great fit in Alpha Chi Omega!

I am glad the group you chose was so respectful of your past.
I mean, after all, the founders of our respective groups were all in the same boat like you were when looking at the expansion options in a way too...making decisions and going into uncharted territory with visions for the future.
Did a lot of your alums choose to AI into Alpha Chi too?
