I just read this article in my local paper and thought of this thread. It reminded me of the posts about "sexy nurse" and "sexy cop", etc.

It took three stores and more than 30 costumes before Marcela Escobar-Eck and her 11-year-old daughter could agree on a Halloween costume.
As her sixth-grader brought out costume after costume, Escobar-Eck was aghast at the options.
“It was slutty pirate. It was slutty bumblebee. It was slutty leprechaun,” Escobar-Eck says. “I was like ‘no,’ ‘no,’ ‘no.’ ”
Forget your wart-faced witches.
When it comes to Halloween costumes for women, teens and even — a real horror — young girls, sex apparently sells.

That's repulsive.
I remember the character costumes we had. They basically consisted of a plastic mask with the character's face (Jeannie, Wonder Woman or whoever) and a polyester jumpsuit with the character's name on the front. They were completely UNsexy. The most risque I got was Miss America one year - I tried pushing the sleeves down over my shoulders.

That's horrible. If you are 17 or younger, you have no business dressing ultra sexy. It's especially bad though at the ages we are talking about.
Oh and nice wand Lucy. Looks like it came out nice.

I wasn't going to dress up, but got invited last second to a costume party. So I just pulled out my old HS graduation robe which in a small miracle still fits.

I went as Cat in the Hat. Whiskers and all. I was really going for a G-rated look (I was working a kiddie party early in the day) and kinda didn't want to be "catcalled" all night with all this T&A I got goin on.
... But then my sister, queen of "slutty (fill in the blank)" costumes, decides my t-shirt, sweats and sneakers needed an upgrade to a tanktop, leggings and heels. Sigh.
She went as a "sexy kitty" which means short revealing dress, tail and ears. Animals, like children, should not be sexy. Jus saying.

I kept asking people if they brushed and flossed every day. Then I quoted this plaque my dentist has on his wall: "You don't have to floss all your teeth - just the ones you want t keep." I thought it was hilarious, but that may or may not have been due to beverage consumption.
