I think that Ms. OK's answer won because millions of little girls can relate to someone making a comment about your fashion sense and have it haunt you for years.
That and the height, and the breasts, and the ....
Oh well, all the contestants deserve it to some degree or they wouldn't have been there.
Best of luck to the new Miss America.

This morning GMA interviewed the new Miss America. Considering how long the pageant has been in existence, couldn't someone have improved on the design of the crown so that it attaches to her head better? Watching that thing bobble up and down on her head as she spoke just made me feel sorry for her.

I was so proud of MISS PA! And was super excited to hear my alma mater (Millersville University) mentioned on Miss A. I was really looking forward to hearing her do an interview. She is reall really good at speaking in ffront of the camera.....she did it nicely as part of the tv station on our campus. too bad she look soooo bony in her swimsuit. but i thought they all look too skinny. i thought sher evening dress was cute (not a wedding dress lieks oem of the women...ugh). the color was interesting and i loved the fact that she had her brother walk her in. i felt it was more natural and not as fake as some of the women saying they were so close with their dads and then not even hugging or kissing him.......way to be different nicole!
after she was out..i didn't watch anymore...apparantly i was better off missing the talent and interviews.
i wanted miss GA to win since PA was out. she was sooo cute.
Overall, i was thoroughly dissapointed this year....and what was with the 'miss america party' they kept visiting..who cares!

Question for those who watched it:
When the new Miss America was crowned, did they still sing the Miss America song?

This year since they wanted to reach into the way back machine, they had a tape of their former host singing the "here she comes" song.

Bert Parks?
What about the part where the song references Atlantic City?

I believe they only did the second verse, which doesn't mention AC:
There she is, Miss America
There she is, your ideal
With so many beauties
She'll take the town by storm
With her all-American face and form
And there she is
Walking on air she is
Fairest of the fair she is
Miss America

FWIW, I once read an interesting article on the Crown Jewels of Britian. One of the things they mentioned was that the ones you see in the Tower are NOT the ones that they wear - the reason being that no one's head is completely round. The tiaras which you see being worn by Royalty have been fitted to their head and are more oval than round, which helps them stay on better.
Another thing that was mentioned was that Royalty tend to wear a hairpiece (even a little one) to hold the tiara on - which is one of the reasons why Princess Diana looked a little "wiped out" by the end of her wedding day, she refused to wear a hairpiece, causing her tiara to slip around and flatten her hair.
You'd think that by that morning interview, the tiara could be fixed to really fit Miss America, though.

I have seen the crown up cose and it is only a few strands of elastic to pin to the head after announcement but after she is crowned I do believe they do fit it to her head properly
