Hello Ladies and Gents, I thought I take my comments and share them with you. I am having a field day reading the posts.

Ok I have to put in my 2 cents into this nice discussion. Here are my nominees for the First Annual Trifling Awards 2001 Edition

1) Whitney Houston: OH LAAAAAWD will someone please tell her to stop hittin dat chronic because Bobby Brown IS NOT and WILL NEVER BE the king of RB. How can she say that even with the likes of Luther on stage. When did the line between class and ghetto get so blurred that one can not gracefully, tactfully and humbly accept a lifetime achievement award.

2) This was a close tie- Mary J. Blige.
I...mean..if...she...could....not...remember...wha t...to...say..to...Whitney...they........should... have...gotten..someone..who..can..
make..a..better...tribute. Next time, leave the grammar school looseleaf paper at home. And what de hell was up with the shredded dress. Can someone send her to finishing school, she's got alot of rough edges when it comes to formal events.

3. All people who don't know that you spit out the gum before going on stage

4. Traci Bingham- I will weave wat wargument awone....Its a shame that she only knows she is Black on Black awards shows.

5. Ananda Lewis: Will someone tell her that the Native American look went out last year. No matter how many designer duds I see her wear, she still looks blah

6. Jodeci-They make the Jamaican accent come out..Is who de hell dat bwoy Devante tink him is wid dat hairstyle? Him look like one fool

7. Shaquille O'neal- He got punked by Eve and looked like a big A@#. I was not feeling that big ass hoop in the ear either. He needs to get Steve Harvey's tailor.

8. Gwen Stefani- You thought we did not notice that you was off beat...gotcha. You did your thing though

9. AJ- Will someone tell him that glittery pants are NOT the way to go. Star on Hot 97 in NYC definitely was right when he calls him Predator. Why does Free always cut him off or try to crack on him when the camera is on.

10. Beanie Siegel- Take off dem hot ass Timbs in Vegas and go get a shave and a bath.

I think I have vented myself fully...whew, now I feel better. :-D

On Tom Joyner this morning, they said that The Original King of R&B meant the King of Rolling Blunts...LOL

also, they said R&B means Robert Brown, as in Bobby Brown!

I'm not sure if it was "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" or "The Russ Pharr Show" this morning...but they said that the award show was very good.... ..What show did they watch??? I couldn't take anymore of the show after the Jodeci mess, so I changed the channel. I guess I expected a little more out of BET ( I don't know why considering their programing choices of informercials and re-runs of Sparks and That's my Mama 7 days a week !)
BUT...after listened to the radio this morning, I thought that maybe I acted a little hasty on changing the channel. I see I made the right decision...but now I see I missed all the drama...but I knew you guys would not let me down!!
Did anyone notice that Beyonce's shorts?(or whatever they are)were (in the immortal words of "House Party").."two inches above the thang!!"
LOL

And guess where I found this info!? MTV.com! Mmmmhmmm, see what's going on ya'll....mmmhmmmm But did anyone check out BET.com? Um, THEY harped on their OWN show in their commentary! Or maybe I was reading way too into it. But it sounded like they were calling out folks for real.

Finally I have the chance to post about those BET Awards. And ya know I have a mouth full. I'll try and keep it simple. Let me just finish drinkin' my last drop of Hater-ade, so I can spit venom properly.

Okay, now here we go:
I can't believe the children of Destiny were dressed soooooo drab!!!! WTF was Tina thinkin'. They let Michelle speak, can we all say Hallelujah!!!!!!
I'm burnin' my Eve CD. Who told her to bring that ol' nasty Sixers jersey. Nobody, and I mean nobody ends Ray Allen's season before I'm ready to stop watchin' him on my screen.
Sisqo------I'm soooo tired of fruitty mic nutti a$$. He is gonna make me unleash the Dragon on his a$$! It's sooo hard to focus when the po' boy is prancing all around the stage and carrying on. You are no Michael, give it up!
Whitney, Just say NO!!! She sounded terrible. Her momma and child were embarassed. Bobby Brown was good in his day, but that day has past and he is NOT the king of R&B. Never was, maybe if she wasn't high she would have known that it was KING OF STAGE. Did anybody notice the look on Miss Cissy's face while Whitney was accepting. She was pissed off to the highest of piss-tivity. Cissy, you can borrow my belt fo' a good ole fashion whuppin'.
Who the Hell told Luther to change the words to the song. We all know he liked it just the way it was. Don't front for me, Luther keep it real!!!!
Mary, Mary...... I know she's family and all but honestly the girl couldn't memorize the 5 lines of the jacked up speech that she just wrote. Ill prepared to say the least. Then again this is the same woman that was on 98.7 KISS-FM (NYC) braggin' about finally receiving her GED. Then tells the host that there were several people that "I had to dis-attach (??????)myself from", dis-attach, has anybody ever heard of detach.
Chris Tucker......how ya gonna try and crack on Lil' Bow Wow and mess up the dang joke!!!And I was waitin' for a Bow Wow joke, I can't stand that lil boy.

Now it's only right to give praise where praise is due.....
Mr. S.Carter, Jay-Z, Jigga, William H. Holla, Jay-Peso, Jay Hova...... that's my HUSBAND.... so ya know he held it down for BROOKLYN!!!!!!!!Ananda, please stop sweatin' my man!
OutKast.......all I can say is So Fresh & So Clean....And Steve & Cedric kept it gangsta dressing for the occasion.

I hope BET and "our" stars get it together for next year.

Well I know that I am a little late but I have to add my 2 cents to this.

Uhhh Uhh Nikki no you didn't Shawn Cory Carter is mine. j/k

Well I personally think that the BET Awards wasnt that bad. Although I do have a couple of gripes here and there:

1. Why did I have no clue who was the opening act. I was like what is this did TLC get back together? I personally like Kelly's voice its not always the greatest and it isnt the strongest but it reminds me of L. Hill and Mary after the voice lessons and when she stopped hittin the izm. But Michelle the Underdog is my girl, Everytime the song comes on I rock her little sentence. "I cant help but wond....."

2. DAMN, DAMN, DAMN, Devante is straight gone did anybody hear K-Ci when he told Devante to go head with that? I swear crack just dries the talent up. I know its crack because what in the world would make him think that Shag w/ a bang was hittin enough to out on stage in.

4. AJ and Free just makes me mad I swear I could do a better job than them.

5. I think that Mary's outfit was hot but I believe that it wasnt appropriate for the awards but hey its Mary.

7. Bobby Kristina was beautiful when she was younger but what in God's name happened to her, Bobby has some strong genes.

9. Eve looked like hot trash as always but she was doin it in them Boots.

10. Viacom does not care a lick about BET if they did they would have told somebody to do something about them cheap a$$ stage props they tried to pass off as background sets

11. Usher, I truly believe thinks that he is Micheal Jackson third cousin twice removed on his Uncle Ronnie's side

12. Sisqo may have had a boring performance but did anyone realize that all the naked chicks that he is so famous for were not around. That is respect.

13. Did anybody catch all the girls standing up while Jay-Z was performing. After the show its the After Party and After the Party its the hotel Lobby.

With all that said I will be at the 2nd annual BET Awards. (sorry about the numbers I erased a few)

while i was over here laughing at some of the stuff that many of you had posted...there was a moment when the ish just stopped being funny.
all i could do is shake my head and think...
"black folx can't do ish right!"
and Viacom allowed us to see how we can be more than ignorant. Black folx showed their asses last night...*with some notable exceptions i read*
other than that...its obvious that BET will after a fiasco such as this...*among other sad issues with BET...it has always been bootleg*
Eventually...i can definitely see Viacom making BET into Urban MTV or MTV Soul. Just as VH1 has an all Urban/Soul network and so does STARZ (BET/STARZ).
Its very distressing that we, as black people, continue to show ourselves as modern day minstrels. Spike Lee had it right on in Bamboozled.

Hey sorry if I brought the party down...it just really had to be said.

Peace

It could be worse. Anybody remember the Source awards?????
