Are you close to your Big/Lil? - Page 6

I'm close with my big and 2 of my littles. I didn't choose my big, but he was assigned to me because he was a little zany & wild, and I was fairly reserved. My pledge ed actually said they matched us in the hopes we would balance each other out! We actually got to be pretty close, and closer as we have gotten older. The funny thing is he just made Police Detective!

I never could have anticipated that! I usually get to visit with him 1-2 times a year.

My first little and I are super close, and I email him and visit occasionally (he lives about 4 hours away). My second little lives in Atlanta (10 hours drive from here), so I only see him every 2 years or so, but we email. I mistakenly accepted a little my senior year (well, I was a 5th year Super Senior!) and I just didn't have the time to spend with him like I did the others. I felt really guilty about that. He and I aren't close, and I haven't heard from him since he graduated.

I had a really good relationship with my big. Even after she went alum, we still talked and made a point to get together...but after she got married, I didn't hear from her again.

haha i love my big now, although when i went through our pledge process i disliked her the most!!! lol...i told her that afterwards too!! she was scary, we called her demon girl as a nickname!! but now we are mad cool with each other, she's a great girl.

my little lives far away

about 5 hours from our campus, but she is just the sweetest thing!! we have the same type of personalities, so i love chatting with her cause she's really nice. we used to email every week, but now we're trying to call each other about once a week to get some quick updates about each other! she works 50+ hours a week at her internship, so i know when she's not working she just likes to chill and do nothing. but it's nice to talk to her...i'm looking forward to hanging out w/ her at our convention in september!!

My big and I were really not that close, because she was graduating the semester. She dropped off the face of the Earth after graduation, but I did see her the first homecoming after I was an active. And then nothing. I haven't heard anything from her since Spring 2002.

I'm not worried about my Big anymore, because I know that she is working on an advanced degree out in Pittsburgh (She's from that area of PA.)

On the other hand, I'm close to my little. We met at a bowling rush this past semester. She and I were very close even then. I knew that I wanted her as my little. We talk all the time and she is more like my best friend than just my little. She considers me to be an older sister that she never had..

My original big sister was a horrible disaster. We had nothing in common. I'm wild and I don't like to make a point to conform (either in fashion or ideas), and she's, well, a stereotypical sorority girl. I tried super hard to get to be close to her though, but it's impossible to make a one way thing work. She never once hung out with me. Ever. The worst was the day at dinner I asked her if she wanted to hang out and she said no, because she was so super busy, but then three minutes later agreed to go hang out with someone else, right in front of me. After that, I decided I just didn't care anymore. It led me to become pretty disillusioned though, and I had even considered dropping. But then I was adopted by Lyre, whose little sis from my pledge class had actually ended up dropping. It seems things turned out for the best, since Lyre and I are without a doubt much more alike. And even though we've graduated, she and I actually remain in contact, which is great. She's awesome. She totally made my senior year rawk.

I should also point out that my little sis rawks as well, I had her picked as one I wanted for my little the first nite I met her. She's too cool!

I love my bigs and littles!

My big and I got along pretty well when we first got matched together. By the time she graduated we became really good friends and hung out all the time (we both lived in the sorority house one year and that's when we really got to know one another and became friends). I'm going to miss her a ton next year! So far we've stayed in touch and I know that I'll visit her whenever I go home.

My big big and big big big (creative, huh?) were also great. I got to know my big big pretty well and we still keep kind of in touch and see each other a several times a year. I've seen my big big big quite a few times since she graduated.

I thought I knew who I wanted my little to be (since we have deferred rush), but she ended up pledging a different house. However, a few days before we had to pick I met my first little. She is great! We've gotten to be pretty close. I was so sad when she deactivated, but we've stayed friends and we hang out a lot. In fact, she helped so much with my second little sis (she decorated her room since I had class!) and did senior appreciation week for my big since I was abroad.

My second little is just as awesome as my first. We aren't as close, but I think that's because we've only known each other for a few months and I'm a junior and she's a freshman. However, we've hung out some this summer, which has been great.

I really love my sorority family! They've definitely made my time in Pi Phi wonderful and have become some of my closest friends. We try to get together for family lunch or dinner once every few weeks... plus, we go out together a lot and have a bunch of mutual friends, so we see each other all the time.

Sorry this is so long, but I just love my fam! I can't wait to see who my second little picks as her little (I'm already getting gifts for her... I'm totally the big sis who went crazy buying gifts, but it was so much fun!)

My first big sister was really nice. I really wanted to get to know her, but it seemed as though she never had time for me and she would connect and do things with other new members, but not me. She was a senior so she did have a lot to do. After she graduated another older sister adopted me and we are great friends. I actually claim her as my real big and kind of leave the other one out. No hard feelings, but she really sucked as a big sister. Now I have two littles and we all have a great relationship. I made the choice to make it a point to get to know my littles outside of Sigma and become someone they can talk to....like a big sister!

I get along great with my Big. She is one of my best friends at school. We actually lived together with another friend last year and loved it so much that we are living together again this year.

I took 2 littles this year and they are wonderful. We get along great and hang out but I am not as close with them as I am with my big mainly because before I met them they already had a group of friends that ended up in our house.

I think it is very important to be close to your big/little. I'm very close to both my big and little. We're a very tight family. We try to make sure we either talk over the summer or during the school year have family nights. Even though my big is no an alum, she is still going to visit my little and I once a week so we can continue to have family nights. I think it helps that we all have so much in common but it's a good bond to have.

I love my big sis, she's one of my best friends and one of the reasons I joined Pi Phi. She was the one who invited me over to the house the first time and was the girl who Prefed me during formal Recruitment. She was my bid day buddy and my Phi friend during pledgeship and one of the people I turn to if I need anything. We're even living together in the fall! People tell us that we are the closest big/lil pair in my house!

My little sis and I don't really get along though.

She and I don't have a lot in common and she has a pretty steady boyfriend that she would rather hang out with. I feel like I haven't really connected with her but she is someone I'd like to get to know better if I could. She's also not really involved in the chapter as much as she could be.

I didn't really know my big sis before I got her as my big sis. We say hi to each other and stuff when we see each other but that is about it. I just we just didn't click that well. She is a really nice girl but we don't have anything in common. I haven't talked to her in months because she hasn't been around lately. I know it's sad. I hope that doesn't happen to me when I get lil's ...

i know my big sis pretty well - we dormed together for over a year. shes pretty cool, but i dont think i look up to her as a mentor or anything - we're in the same year and stuff so we're more just friends than big sis/lil sis...in my opinion anyways...

my first little sis and i are really close - we were probably the closest of all the bigs and littles in her class...ahhhh i just found out shes not coming back this year though shes transferring ..makes me really sad

i got a second lil sis last spring, and shes sooooo cool, i think i look up to her lol i dont know her as well as id like to though..shes real busywith theater, and she lives a few states away during the summer and shes busy with her boyfriend a lot so it was hard getting to know her..i hope to get to know her better this next year

I had issues with my bigs. Yes, I had two. My original big flaked and ended up dropping the sorority, and I still see her around campus but she wasn't the greatest in the capacity of big sis. So I was then adopted by my 2nd big, whom I chose because she had been helpful during my new member period. She's a really cool girl, but I didn't grow very close to her as compared to how I am with other sisters in the chapter, and since she's graduated I haven't talked to her.
My lil, on the other hand, is a different story. She wasn't originally my lil. She was my 'guardian's' lil and when she transferred to another campus, and with her blessing, I adopted her as my lil. (There's an adoption trend here...

) She and I get along really well and, while we don't talk constantly, when we do sit and talk or hang out, it's always great fun.
So there's my little story.

i have the best big sis!! i went through recruitment because i knew the rush chair for chi omega from the year before. i was way excited when i ended up getting a bid for chi omega!! i got to hang out with her and meet the other sisters too. all the girls thought it would be funny if i was this other girls lil sis because they all said we looked alike. but when it came down to picking, i put jen down as my first choice. i had seen her in one of my classes during recruitment, but didnt get to talk to her during recruitment. after bid day we started talking in lab and sitting together during lectures more and just clicked. we had a lot in common, and i was sooo excited when i found out she was my big!! were way close and i can tell her anything. she ended up being way more than just a big sis...shes my best friend and i love her!! were over 2000 miles apart for the summer but we talk almost every day still. hopefully when i get a lil sis well be this close too!!
