Who'd a thunk it that the Shark would be the one to take down the great Killer Whale - ah well, can't win them all.

The Quebec Nordiques by any other name are still the Quebec Nordiques.

Yeah so detroit took down the mighty maple leaf, it's bound to happen, everybody is allowed an off night. I am just happy that there it is starting to feel like playoffs, there is a little more electricty in every teams game, it fricken awesome.

Yep. It's definitely starting to feel like playoff season. Most teams are really raising the bar and everyone's a little more concerned with stats.

God I love Hockey!

The way the wings have been rolling along lately, who will stop them?

I see Detroit and vancouver making the west finals and Ottawa and New Jersey making the east finals.

Detroit will earn their 4th in 7 years by beating NJ.

A power play is when one team has a player in the penalty box, making it 5 on 4. The Team with 5 players on the ice is on the "power play", while the team with 4 players is on the "penalty kill".

You start a game at 0 if you are on the ice and a goal is scored against you you go to -1, if another goal is scored you goto -2. If you are on the ice and your team scores a goal you add one. The +/- ratings are added up over the season, so when you look at a player like Alexi Yashin of the Islanders who is -20, it means that 20 more goals have been scored against the NYI when he is on the ice, then have been scored for them.

If anybody else has any hockey related questions I, as well as others i'm sure, wouldn't have a problem answering them. It is a rare occurance that i don't know something rulewise (I was a ref for a while).

Well then, can you explain why hockey refs are so dumb sometimes and call cheap penalties?
